bought these online which was a mistake. The googles are great *except* for a cheap plastic clip that secures the two ends of the elastic bands at the back of a helmet. Didnt actually use them but its such a flimsy piece of plastic that it will likely fatigue / break with repeated use. Returning these.
I love the style and visibility. I love the way the skyline goggles interface with my Smith helmet. I am not too pleased at the quality of the craftsmanship. The alignment of the face foam to the goggle frame is off. Please reference attached photographs. Granted, this is not a life saving device, but considering that it is a Smith product I would expect a higher level of quality control over the manufacturing of your goggles. Somewhat disappointed, but not enough to return them. Unfortunately every time I don them I will thinking about the misaligned foam.
I used these for a first time ski lesson as well as a snowmobile tour in colorado for Christmas. It snowed nicely the whole time we were there any these worked great. They were comfortable, the tinting was just right, and I had very minimal fogging issues. Bonus: they photographed amazingly well too.
I got 2 pairs of the Skyline goggles, the Photo-chromatic Red Mirror (for everyday) and Storm Rose Flash (for flat light). Love them both! The photo-chromatic mirrored works like magic, adjusting themselves to the sunlight as needed. You can see them get darker the longer they are out in the sun. The Storm Rose are great for flat light (which seems to be every day on the east coast!) and even bright enough for night skiing. They fit well with my POC Obex helmet but do scratch easily so make sure you keep them in a goggle case when not in use. Overall, I'm loving the Skyline's!
bought for cycling in polar vortex, not skiing. the vision was crisp, and the filter was good for a overcast and but bright days. they are vented, but after and hour of cycling, they do fog to the point i have to stop and wipe them down. once they have fogged, it is hard to get them clear again. by hour 3 they are a mess. disclosure - i do sweat a lot. for dh skiing, where you eventually have lift time to dry the foam out, it probably works ok
These were a decent price and work well. They fit and reflect sun and wind.
They really do “pop” and they are very comfortable. I am wearing Smith sunglasses in this photo, but when I’m not, it’s Smith goggles all the way!! Thanks :grinning_face_with_star_eyes: I even treated my boyfriends to the same (with a black strap.)
Great goggles with a very comfortable fit. Overall all quality is what is expected from Smith.
These are great goggles :) Used my last pair of goggles until they could literally not be used anymore.. the goggle technology has come a longgg way. These are awesome. ChromaPOP
The fit and design is great, but avoid these goggles if you plan to change lenses. I am very good with mechanical things, but even I struggle to change the lens! There is a Smith video that makes it look easy, but that is misleading. You have to stretch the plastic/rubber perfectly and align it with the notches perfectly, otherwise it is an extremely frustrating experience. If you plan to have multiple lenses, spend the extra and get the 4D Mag S model instead.
