Odd Fit

I recommend trying this on before buying. I ordered it online, and the upper part is semi-snug in the shoulders while the bottom is way wider. The weirdest part is the internal cinch cord rides higher than expected making it look/feel awkward. Not cinching the cord leaves it looking like you're wearing a big wide garbage bag. I will be returning it.

Would recommend this rain jacket to everyone!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great rain jacket and have received nice comments from those I have shown. High tech fabric makes it very light to wear and already used it in the rain and works fantastic!! Two zippers=one in the front and one inside for my phone. Outside pockets are large and easily entered through the velcro closures. Warm too!! Would recommend this product to men or women. Have used other North Face products over the years and same good quality as you would expect from these folks. Two thumbs up!!

Vancouver Bomb cyclone Approved

Fits snug, drapes well over shoulder, sleeve length is about right, snug under armpit with good articulation. Hood fits snug. Good length. I wear a 38 blazer and bought size small. Performance exceeded my expectations. Wore this jacket during Vancouver's recent bomb cyclone in the rain for a total of over 64hrs and it kept me dry. The material doesn't repel water such as goretex although the liner inside was always dry. It remained light weight as it got soaked (after first 1.5hr) and saw an average 1hr for the jacket to dry on a chair b4 heading back out. On days that weren't raining, material breathed well, and worked ok at keeping wind out. Packs as small as a football.

Wear Everyday

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I throw this bad boy on anytime a slight breeze even thinks about grazing my baby soft skin. No way am I letting Michigan weather chafe this pinnacle of biological architecture. Just throw this all-in-one near-reality-bending hot pocket on yourself and you could take on Wompas like your favorite laser-wielding space wizard. All in all it's pretty cool.

I definitely would buy this again

I recently took a trip to South Africa and this jacket was excellent. We endured heavy winds in the Capr and a little rain, however this jacket stood strong. It also turnt quite a few heads during our mountain hikes. Love it, perfect coat for any occasion inop.

Once I returned the XL (even with layers it was a bit too baggy in the body) for an L the overall fit was great. This is a great layer top piece if you live in an area where you can usually get away with a sweatshirt. it folds and packs nicely too if you need to stow it. The only downside is that the hood is a bit large, so that it droops forward an adjustment string on the back of the hood like on the regular rain jackets TNF offers would be a nice addition and solve this.

Great rain jacket

Really nice jacket. I had to size down on it though. Seems to run large. I own a urban navy blue one and went back and bought the black one also because I like the jacket that much. Stylish cut as well. Comfortable, light weight and kept me dry in the rain/snow. I layered it over my winter jacket in heavy snow and it fit over that fine. That should give you an idea of how large it runs. I usually wear a medium and the small fits like a medium.

Perfect for commuting on foot

The toughest weather I've put it through so far was a 20 minute walk to work with pouring rain, 13mph wind gusts, around 40°f. I was completely dry under the jacket and actually a bit warm since I went up a size to fit a sweater under it. The shell does a great job stopping the elements as no rainwater got through anywhere and the wind was essentially a nonfactor. The length is perfect for protecting anything in pants pockets although I would like a couple more inches to make it knee length rather than mid thigh. The dual zipper can stick a little sometimes at the bottom but for quick trips outside I'll just snap two of the buttons and go. Honestly I'm considering buying another just to have color options. I would recommend trying it on with and without a sweater if you are considering layering. I bumped up a size and am happy with that choice.

This is a great buy.

As a slim, 6'1" guy , it can be tough to find gear that's both fashionable and functional. This certainly fit the bill. The length is perfect and it fits reasonably snugly around my torso (I purchased a medium). I wore it on a trip to NYC, but it's great in adverse weather in the outdoors as well. My only complaint is that the zipper closure is a bit finicky when taking the jacket off; otherwise this would be a 5 star purchase.
