Sturdy shoe for gravel
I now have two pairs of these, one in case my others get too wet to wear the next day. Many women in this gravel cycling group in social media had recommended these shoes. The soles are grippier than my Bontrager shoes. I've had my first pair for 8 months and they're still great! Wide toe box and comfortable on the sole of my foot. My only gripe is that they don't loosen up enough and the tongue doesn't open up enough to get my foot in easily. Feel like I need a shoe horn sometimes!
These would be great shoes except they smell
I really like these shoes. Nice grippy soles, nice color, snug closure, stiff where it needs to be stiff. They also run a little small. I'm a 42 in shimanos and these are a bit short. I talked to Shimano and they said they're using a different last since I last bought a pair of 42's from shimano. Which owns Pearl Izumi. But they stink like some kind of horrible vinyl shower curtain. So I'm going to return them because I don't know if whatever that stink is will off gas in a reasonable time frame.
great shoes
Finally upgraded my Pearl Izumi shoes after 12years and these are the perfect upgrade. I love the color, and the boa system to tighten. I read the reviews regarding the sizing and they’re just right. I’m a size 8 and ordered 40EU.
runs small/tongue is high
I ordered a size 39 (7.5) and my toe hits the end. Also, the tongue is too long. It hits against my ankle.
Too narrow, too stiff
I purchased these shoes in size 38 since I am a US size 7 hoping they would work, but found that they were both too narrow and my big toe was touching the top of the shoe. They are also very stiff which is probably because they have a place on bottom for pedal clip. I also am not a fan of the stiff shoe tongue. That stabbed me in the ankle. No hesitation in sending them back.
Fantastic shoes
These shoes are versatile and so comfortable. The toe box is wide enough for me. The heel and tongue of the shoe is also very comfortable. Highly recommend
