So warm
I was looking for a jacket with ethically sourced down + extreme warmth. I bought this this weekend. I was wearing my lululemon leggings and a 100% wool top underneath while walking around in 9 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes at night. I was super toasty. The hood does what a mummy sleeping bag does which is amazing. Im not much of a reviewer of things but I can say this has exceeded expectations. So many pockets. Stop looking any further. Buy them jacket if you want warmth. I’m 5’6 and 125 lbs. I got the small and have room for clothes underneath. It hits just below the knees.
Don’t want to take it off
Live in Minnesota and was due to invest in a new winter coat but I’ve been picky and waiting to find the right one. I wanted something longer, and this is like wearing a sleeping bag. So cozy. I am normally a medium but I got a large and it’s slightly oversized in a good way where I can comfortably fit a sweater underneath. I have a 36dd chest so the large seems like a good fit in that regard as well. Also the pockets, the many glorious pockets!! Found it on sale at my local store, which felt like a steal!
Excellent quality!
This jacket is so well made and worth every penny. I’m 5’5” and 135 lbs and I have the small. It fits generously and I could have probably gone with the XS but I do like the extra room. I have walked many very cold miles in this jacket and haven’t been cold yet. The only thing that bothers me sometimes are the snaps on the cuffs. They are cold on my skin. I’d recommend this jacket to anyone who lives with winter. :)
A Must Have
I live in Minnesota and as every Minnesotan can attest to, I've spent years and years looking for "the warmest" winter coat. Well, I finally found it! I am no longer cold, ever. Sometimes, I'm too warm. But it's worth it to be able to go out in -10 below zero weather with just sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt, and be toasty toasty.
Intensely warm!
I ordered this as my 500 fill down jacket was just not proving enough for my first Midwest winter... great timing as the weekend after I received this I woke up to -21 degrees! This thing is crazy warm... the instant you put it on you start to heat up. You can snug the hood until only your eyes are showing which was perfect for the strong winds we have here. However, once you warm up enough to pull the hood down and loosen the zipper a bit, the zipper ends are stiff and kind of uncomfortable, they press against your face or neck, even with the hood all the way loosened. This is fantastic for really cold weather but can be a bit much when it warms up a little. It runs a slightly big, I usually wear a large in jackets but I ordered a medium in this & it is still just slightly roomy. It definitely is not slimming, ha! In super cold weather though you will not care about that. The material feels so soft, way nicer than any of my many other down jackets. The deep pockets are great. And I like that this is a blend of down + down alternative too (and their down is always ethically sourced). I love how it goes below my knees, the only thing that got cold out walking the land was my hands! I love when jackets have snaps in addition to a zipper as well, for versatility. Perfect if I just want to throw it on to run out and get the mail without zipping my whole self into a cocoon. The zipper feels super sturdy, as does the rest of the construction. I got this on sale with a steep discount otherwise I would probably never have ordered it, but it will now officially be my “big coat”! The Swedes apparently know what they are doing when it comes to coats!
Luscious & Cozy Coat
Luscious fabric, soft and quiet. Runs a big large. I'm 5'3", 127 lbs, 36DD; I tried both the M and S and the S fit best even with a heavy fleece underneath.
Legit Winter Jacket
I rarely write reviews and wanted to share my feedback on this in the event it could help others. I'm 5'10", 145lbs, slim build and ordered a medium. I live in MN and frequent hockey rinks and other outdoor ventures in the winter. This is a gigantic jacket. If you are looking for a slimming, well fitted jacket, this is not it. It took me a couple of weeks to actually feel comfortable wearing something so bulky and was debating returning it or trying a size small. I'm glad that I didn't do either. It is wonderfully warm; I have yet to feel chilled in it, even at below zero temps. The pockets are fantastic. I have fully embraced the bulk and feel invincible in the arctic cold. The reason for 4 stars: 1) the zipper took a while to break in. It struggled to zip the first dozen times but is now fine. 2) I wish the sleeves were just a tad longer for my height/arm length, but not a deal breaker. Overall, a fantastic, well-made, warm jacket. Embrace the bulk and you'll be just fine!
My favorite jacket.
I absolutely love this jacket—it's hands down the best one I own, and I have a lot. The red color is eye-catching, and it's incredibly comfortable and flexible, not stiff or heavy even in the coldest temperatures. Living in the Northeast, I'm often outside in freezing weather, and this jacket keeps me warm without feeling bulky. After a couple of years, it still looks great, and I get tons of compliments on it. It's easy to care for too: I wash it on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and air fluff it on low heat, and it comes out looking like new. Definitely a five-star product!
Warm, comfy parka, but not waterproof.
I purchased this coat to prepare for time in the arctic, and it's certainly very, very warm and well constructed. It would be perfect if it was also waterproof.
Polar warmth
I bought this coat when I moved to one of the coldest cities in the US (Duluth). To those who think this coat is not warm enough… that is utter nonsense. If it is above 20F (-5C) I literally sweat in this coat, even just wearing a t shirt underneath. I have worn it to walk my dogs for over an hour in -40F windchill and still felt warm. I would say if you don’t live somewhere very very cold, this coat may too warm for you. I would absolutely plan to rebuy if ever needed but so far it has held up great! 155lbs, 5’7 SIZE M fits perfect
