The North Face  Arctic Insulated Parka - Women's

This was the perfect parka jacket that kept me warm the whole time in the extreme March weather in Iceland. Good fit, length, wearing the hoody makes a difference, and I loved the mustard color, especially on how it stands out in the pictures.

I did a ton of research in hopes of finding my BIFL-quality winter coat. Long story short, this is a well constructed coat but did not keep me warm at temps under 40 degrees (that’s ABOVE zero, as in not even freezing yet.). I think it is *too* breathable and actually let cold air through. I live in the PNW and travel to New England, so I returned this and will keep looking for something g warmer.

I’ve been wore this through a Chicago snowstorm. After walking a mile, sweat was running down my back. I also wear it when ‘Camp Hosting’ which requires riding in a golf cart in the frigid early morning. This coat keeps me warm. I love the bottom zipper which, when zipped up, allows room for comfortable walking and sitting. The thumb slots prevent wind from going up your arm. I’ve only used full parka mode twice, with the hood up and zipped. The snaps are difficult to snap and the hood prevents peripheral sight. It’s also a little uncomfortable around the neck but it kept me warm and dry.

The coat fits really well. The only issue is that it has a strong spicy odor smell. It smells like someone ordered it, kept it at their home for a while and then returned it. Would have been nice if it was cleaned before sending to someone else. I now have to have it cleaned before using. Really annoying for the price of the coat.

Great medium thick down jacket with water repellent shell. Warm and soft to touch, I feel happy and comfortable every time wearing it.

This is a warm coat, no doubt. A bit on the big side for a petite person, but it will keep you warm in a chicago winter my big gripe is with the hood. It’s massive and hard to maneuver in the car, putting on a crossbody bag, etc. and looks ridiculous since it’s so large and since it has a flexible piece that surrounds the fur that has a mind of its own. Make the hood removeable and you’d have a far better coat. I recommend it with that caveat.

I've worn this coat a few times since it's arrival and I have to say, it's quite warm and well-made. The sleeves are a little long, but the hood is probably the only hood I've ever had that actually stays on my head and keeps me warm. The issue is, the coat is way too tight around the hips. I got a medium, and it fits my torso great, but the hip area really has no give whatsoever. I have to work to get the zipper closed, and then have to open the second zipper to walk. Also, the green is not olive toned like the picture suggests, it's much brighter.

After 17 years in an old well worn Northface, it was time for a warmer coat, a waterproof coat, and one worthy of the raw cold to the bones that only a Nor’ Easter in coastal Massachusetts brings. I have two dogs to walk and take outside even on stormy days or and nights. This is what I told the store manager and he brought me the Northface Arctic Parka and it was exactly what I had been looking for! Comfy, warm, great hood that couldn’t possibly blow off in the wind, a zipper that works in both directions easily…and waterproof. The down fill keeps me so warm!! I look forward to putting this parka on because I know it will be warm, wind proof and waterproof and cozy. I love it and it was the best gift to myself I could ever buy! 100% recommend the Arctic Parka. I’m 5 feet tall and slim and the medium fits great with a heavy sweater or hoodie. Opted not to get petite because I liked the longer length.

I did not find this coat warm. I live in New Jersey, so it is cold but not frigid. My arms were cold every time I wore it. I was only warm enough when I wore my fleece under it..... I did like the style and fit, which didn't permit any cold air getting in. I'm grateful to REI for its generous return policy. My prior LL Bean coat, which lasted 20 years, was MUCH warmer. I'm now wearing the Helly Hensen Bouvet parka and am toasty. It's more expensive (at $480) but I know it will last forever.

Bought this to replace my Goose that I've had for 10 years. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find something I loved as much as that coat, but the Arctic Parka delivers, friends. I've worn it in subzero, windy conditions and it holds up!! It's toasty, comfortable, great hood, amazing sleeve length, and it's cute to boot. I could go on and on but you get it. A dog walker's dream. This coat is the real deal. I never write reviews. Please never change this coat!
