This is a quality piece! I’ve always thought vests were a nice layering piece, but have never put one on that I love this much. I purchased the dusky brown color and it has a pretty lilac hue at the top panel, which is very flattering for a pale redhead! I usually wear a Large top in most brands (incl. Patagonia), but I purchased this in an XL because I wanted a little less fitted and a little more steezy vibe. Exactly what I was going for! Fits over any jacket, chunky sweater, or thick fleece. I am 6ft tall and it nearly covers my entire backside, which is nice for that leggings vibe. The hood is roomy and stiff (in a good way). Great for topless Jeep drives when the air gets colder. Also the top panel/hood are canvas-feeling with DWR and they shed water great! The bottom portion is slicker (like a traditional puffy) and is great for shedding dog hair and dirt/staying generally presentable. It can pack down into a pack okayyy, but I wouldn’t consider super packable or breathable for higher-output adventures. But is wonderful for any pre/post/in-between adventure or errand-running! Getchyoself one!
Pros: Nice colours (dark blue and tan), warm fleece material inside the deep pockets and around the neck, withstands wind really well, good length, and definitely warm. Cons: The feathers do come out of the vest a fair amount and Patagonia seems to design women's clothing for people without a chest so the cut is straight and not super flattering. Good to know: There are snaps which I like but could bother others, the hood is a bit large and bulky, and the vest does not pack down very well like other puffy products. Bought on sale which seemed fair, as full price was quite steep.
Bought this vest for my wife and she loves it. She’s been eyeing this best for years so I wanted to surprise it with her. The newer model seems slightly less bulky and rigid than previous editions. The hood is large, so it’s actually useful but definitely looks a little big when up in case that matters to anyone. The inside print is awesome so I’d say the only bummer I could think of with the vest is that it’s not reversible. Also it’s pretty expensive, but it’s made out of recycled materials and will last for many years so seemed worth the investment to me
I love the look and warmth of this vest. It runs a bit small compared to other brands. I normally wear an XS or S and got an XS, but it’s a bit tight. Chest : 35 Waist : 26 Hips : 34 5’3” tall
Bummed about this one- need to return it. This vest was a lot puffy than I expected, and not flattering. A little long to be flattering, too (and I am 6'). It buttoned up instead of zipping, which I feel would be a lot more convenient.
This is a warm and well-made vest. I personally like the snaps for adjustable warmth and air flow, and I like that I can open up the hips for extra movement. My only issue is that the upper fabric is quite a bit heavier than the lower, and this makes the hood very heavy! It feels odd to have a lightweight vest on with a big hood hanging off of it. Not so convenient for wearing in and out of doors.
Warm and comfortable. My go-to for walks and cold mornings in the house!
I had this in my cart for a while, and then I wound up getting it as a gift for my birthday. It is everything I was hoping for and more! I am 5’5” and 115 lbs. I got a S and I think it’s great. I had an XS in my cart but I’m happy I got a S instead so I have room for my sweatshirts underneath.
Beautiful color, warm but bulky and the zipper is missing in this vest I have an older version, fabric is better and it has a solid zipper. This new version I love the look of but the snaps gap and fabric with tear easily. Bring back the zipper!!!
Bought this for my granddaughter who is avid backpacker, hiker. She loves it. She said it is comfortable perfect for all her outdoor activities.
