Fits on my Nalgene!
I bought this to replace my broken Nalgene cap. You know how it goes: use the loop for travel one too many times and the thing breaks, the lid to the mouth opening winds up missing or becomes very precious. I actually have both a Nalgene and a Camelbak Chute, and it fits on both of them. I prefer the Nalgene bottle because it is slightly wider and easier to clean. I prefer this lid since it actually has a useful loop and the lid is more durable. Slightly heavy though, but I guess that is not a bad trade off for a sturdier lid.
So close!
I currently use a normal chute lid where you have to click in the lid. I thought that this would be a great upgrade and it is, except for one thing. It doesn't have the half turn lid, I LOVE the half turn lid. I feel like I have to turn this one so much until it won't leak. I feel like any convenience I'm getting from the magnet I'm losing when I have to turn the thing so many times. I would really love a magnet half turn lid, it would be perfect. But as it is, honestly I'll stick with clicking in my lid.
Great lid, but needs a tweak
Great lid and very convenient. I like that when you close it the mouthpiece is completely covered. When drinking frequently, you can put the cap on with screwing it in, which makes it easy. However, it is also easy to forget you haven't securely closed it when you are ready to travel again. The inner spout should have a bright color that would be exposed when the cap is not screwed on. Then the lid would be perfect.
Fits all size Chute Mag bottles
What I learned from having the previous version of Chute bottles is to have extra lids and switch them out throughout the week so they can throughly ari dry. I had mold form within the threads of the part that covers the mouth piece of the last version of Chute. This new Chute Mag is designed a little differently and I think that'll be less of a problem, but I still bought a couple extra to swap them.
A nice upgrade to the
A nice upgrade to the old plastic strap retention system that was always fighting to get in the way. As others have mentioned, time will tell how the plastic "hinge" area stands up to repeated use. I was able to nurse 5 or 6 years put of the old strap system, but this is such a joy to use, I won't complain if it doesn't last as long
Glad I could replace the
Glad I could replace the cap when I broke mine— the 50 oz bottle continues to work great! A whole new bottle would’ve been a waste, so I grabbed two caps just in case my track record repeats… great handle grip, simple opening, but the magnet on the last one weakened after a while. Still, I’m happy with the product so far!
Magnetic component is clunky and adds weight
I wish I had realized the implications of the magnetic closure. No one would ever just use a magnetic closure, you will of course screw the lid as well, but with this, screwing the lid on and off is very clunky and not a smooth process at all, and moreover, the lid is much heavier. Buy one without the magnet if you can!
The caps are nice enough
The caps are nice enough and merit the rated review. Truly rare that we've had difficulty with one, but the seal kept falling out of the old one. It became permanently lost. Thus we bought a new cap. Maybe I could have asked customer service for just a new seal, perhaps, but the problem may not have resolved.
Replacement Purpose
I bought this lid a few weeks ago for my Camelbak Eddy water bottle because the other lid that came with it continuously grew mold no matter how much I cleaned it. I've had no issues with this new lid and I love the magnetic feature that holds it open when you're drinking :) 10/10 would buy again
I was hesitant about replacing
I was hesitant about replacing the cap on my old Chute water bottle with the new design, but so far this one has held up well In my mind Chute makes the best quality plastic water bottles out there, and the new cap design follows in that tradition. Fits on my old Chute 32 oz water bottle.
