for the price, this bag is wonderful! I've used this for two Summers in Alaska and I love it! It's not too heavy, pretty warm, compresses small enough (for the price) and I love having the room to move around in the bag a bit. As a side sleeper it's a breath of fresh air. I cannot tell any difference between the two sides as far as temperature goes but it keeps me warm. I usually sleep in layers and now with a warm liner (so I don't have to clean the bag as much). So it's hard for me to say how warm the bag itself really is but I'd say if it gets below 40/45 degrees I'd get a little cold.
Nice, lightweight sleeping bag for car camping. I like that it can be used for 2 temperature ranges, plus it can be opened as a blanket. I've given it a couple of runs and think the temperature ranges might be rated a little lower than accurate - or maybe I just need to dress warmer.
I’ve had this bag for 2 1/2 years and this is my go-to for weekends with scouts or week-long summer camp. I use it with a rectangular silk/cotton liner. It is not a cold weather bag, though. I find that I get cold in this bag with the thicker side on top when it hits 60F or below. Great, lightweight roomy bag for warm weather camping, but not 25/40.
Although I have not taken it to the trail, I have faith for it to be a great sleeping bag. I have tested it at home and I'm sleeping in it EVERY DAY since I got it. It is so comfy and lightweight. The bag is the perfect size for me. I'm 5'10 and Medium fits me well. I guess for people who are bigger, the large version will be a good fit. Something to be considered: - My scale gives me a different reading. It is a little bit heavier than 2lbs for the Medium. I added a compression sack of about 2 ozs, the total weight is about 2.5 lbs. - I have read about some reviews that this sleeping bag may not hold up the listing temperature, I think it does a decent job of providing the warm. Maybe considering a sleeping bag liner to add extra warmth for those who need them. Overall, It is a great sleeping bag from exped!
Nice quality bag with a nice stuff sack and material, but not for people who toss and turn in their sleep. I was warm in this bag until I would turn in my sleep with the bag, at which point it would switch to the 40 degree rated side and then I would get cold. It's fine if you can rotate in the bag without switching the sides, but I can't do that subconsciously in my sleep
Bought this on sale a while back wasnt really expecting to use it in freezing temps, however i went camping twice in cold weather. One time was about 35-40 and the other was right at 30 degrees. I wore minimal clothing, and used a sleeping pad as you are supposed to. I was cold at first but after some wiggling and shoving my head inside i was warm and asleep in no time.
When I first got this bag I was very pessimistic about it being a 25 degree bag. After using it, I can say that it’s far from that. Maybe 40 degrees if you wear garments. But it does seem to be a well built bag. It is comfortable and easy to toss and turn in. The snug string was a nuisance so I removed it.
I bought this bag to pair with a down quilt if chilly or use on its own during summer. For the price and description, it is what I expected. No visible flaws or issues. The zipper can get caught on the fabric but that can happen with any zippered garment or sleeping bag. Looking forward to testing this in my backyard during late winter/early spring temps and will report back with how it performs. Nice that it came with a stuff sack but would have preferred a compression bag but no big deal. It is not too bulky or heavy for what I expected. I am 6'2" and I ordered the "long" version and it is long enough.
Perfect sleeping bag for summer camping. Kept me cool, but comfortable in the summer heat. Easy to pack. Lightweight and easy to clean.
Not sure if its the slippery fabric, or the shape, but this bag isn't as warm as implied. I ended up warmer buying a blanket, which had more options
