Can sleep flat
Dr Dave
I use my own suspension system and works fine without Helios. I can sleep flat on either side or on my back comfortably. 5 ft 9 in 210 lbs with wide shoulders. I can set up hammock in 2 minutes. The zipper tends to hang up and requires fussing and repositioning to close. It tends to roll /tip easily enough to wake me at first not dump me. Mosquito netting is too close to face. I like it not love it. If they made the bottom 6 inches deeper the face space would be better and it would lower the center of gravity and not tip. And fix the zipper. Would be perfect then.

Great design but zipper is weak

This is a great design and an affordable price; however, when laying in the hammock, you put lots of stress on the zipper of the bug net. It is kind of hard to zip and unzip. I took for 1 two day outing and the zipper binded up and failed. Will return and try again being careful to move my body around to take pressure off zipper when opening or closing.

Great idea, not great in the field

I REALLY wanted to like hammock camping, but by the end of my four day trip, it just didn’t work out the way I wanted. PROS: - It was so nice to lay down and swing in the sun under a tree in the mountains whenever we got to our campsites. - The bug screen definitely worked as long as I kept it zipped up while I was not actively moving things in or out of it. - It was a pretty easy set up once I got familiar with it and remembered the right steps in the right order. - I didn’t fold into a banana shape at night as much as I thought I might, and was still able to somewhat sleep on my sides as well. CONS: - The zipper never failed on me, but I was worried about it every time I closed up the net for sleep because instead of a smooth zip, it would start to snag then release every three inches. And sitting up to reach the far end of the zipper can change the center of gravity, which can make things start to feel really unstable. - The hammock ONLY works with the Helios suspension system, which has a less than convenient locking system. - It takes some practice being able to find trees the right distance apart. I had three times gotten the suspension system looped around trees to find out that either the trees were too close to work, or I needed to loop the straps a couple more times to make them short enough to work. - If you’re using a rain tarp, the overall footprint of the space you’ll need is about twice the size of what a ground tent would need. There was one site that my buddy had to move his tent over a couple feet when I realized my tarp cord had to be staked right in the middle of his spot. Not useful in smaller campsites. - At 6 foot, sitting upright is not really an option, and moving around in any position other than lying flat felt like there was a risk of flipping over. Sliding into my sleeping bad was an adventure every time. I would also wake up at night and find myself slid over to one end or the other, and also all the way to one side. I never actually flipped over, but it felt like I had a lot of close calls. - There’s no space for my gear, so it just sits outside, exposed to nature. To be safe, I would put my bag’s rain cover on to keep the dew off, but at one site I caught a raccoon shoulder deep in my bag one afternoon, so I doubt a cover would have been much protection at night. - It may have been because it was my first trip out with the setup, but it usually took me almost twice as long to set up or tear down as the rest of my friends who were all in tents. - No place to keep muddy shoes away from critters at night. - If the campsite has a lot of other campers coming through and privacy is required, changing clothes in the hammock is almost a circus act. Overall, a day trip alone might be a nice option for this, but I’ve already returned the hammock, suspension system, and rain tarp to start my search for a tent instead. I might get another hammock I can just relax in in the future, but no more camping for me.

Multiple uses! Hammock not best option...

This was my shelter for a long distance hike on The Appalachian Trail. I found it taxing to hang correctly. Most often too much tension was on the zipper, and I was careful and slow zipping to make it work. I got it to work correctly twice. I absolutely love the Skylite as a tent/bivvy though! It's also a great size to set up inside trail shelters (as a bivvy). Currently I am crafting a waterproof boat shaped footprint for it. With a large lightweight rainfly I actually like it more that backpacking tents or hammocks. Hikers constantly ask me about this thing. Super versatile. It does make a nice hangout hammock. Never ever will I use it as a hammock to sleep in though! On the ground it goes for sleep.

Worst hammock I’ve ever used

I love Hammock camping and was super excited to get the Skylite. I had planned to take to to the jungles of Southeast Asia for a few months, but after a trial run, I returned the Skylite. I am 160 lbs and about 5’7”. Once in the hammock I found it difficult to zip, unstable, and uncomfortable. Due to the center seem. The center of the hammock tended to curve into my lumbar so much that I felt my head and feet were lower to the ground than my back. Unless you want to wake up feeling like you’ve been in a yoga position all night or end up flipping during the night, don’t buy this hammock. The Helios straps were awful as well. Save some money and get the atlas straps and a double nest

Great hammock

I just recieved this hammock and it's extremely comfortable. The only knock on it is they say the underquilts fit this hammock but they don't. The bar on both sides make the underquilt sit in a weird shape and don't hook up like it would on a normal hammock that tightens at the ends. But you can rig it up with extra paracord. Other than that this thing is my new go to hammock!!

Best eno yet

Tried a lot of hammocks before I found one that checks all the boxes. This is definitely the best of the best. Light easy to set up the bug net is no hassle and it is extremely comfortable. The option to use carabiners is ingenious and they really got all the details right. Obviously you can’t use an under quilt because of the suspension bars but I will be purchasing an air pad here soon. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

Eno’s Best Hammock

Unbelievably comfortable. I’m actually upset when I read the previous review giving this only 4/5 stars. It is 5/5 in my opinion. One thing I would like Eno to make however, is a sleeve into which to fit an air pad and perhaps large saddlebags for extra storage. Otherwise, thank you for an awesome product!

Tall guy review, SkyLite hammock

6'4" 200 pound guy, this fits me well and I sleep great. No issues with the bug netting, some folks say the netting has 'too much pressure on the zipper' that only happens if you set it up incorrectly. I love not having a separate bug net to set up and carry, and being able to flip this over and not use the bug net at all is great. In sub zero camp outs with this, I tend to not use the spreader bars and use this as a traditional hammock, as it will wrap around me more, holding in my body heat. You WILL need an underquilt under the hammock or pad of some sort under you, regardless of the temps you are in. I have 2 different under quilts that I partner with various bags, depending on the temps. All in all, super comfortable, versatile and pretty darned light weight. I've used it a bunch and have bought a few for my oldest boys as they venture out in more extreme camping.

Found the perfect underquilt

I've slept pretty comfortably in this hammock on many trips. It is lightweight and I found an inexpensive rain fly for it. Generally, I sleep in it with a sleeping pad under me, however, recently, I decided to try the underquilt I bought from Lawson for my Lawson Tree Tent. That underquilt fits the SkyLite better than it fits the hammock it was made for. I'm not sure if you can still purchase the same underquilt from Lawson, but they do feature an underquilt on their website that looks like the same product. On a related note: I am disappointed that ENO doesn't offer more support for this and the SkyLoft hammocks. They don't offer a bug net that fits the SkyLoft or an underquilt for either of them. The good news is that I found the perfect underquilt ... and I already owned it. :)
