Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Perfect for warm-weather hiking and travel
I have been wearing these pants for a few months during fieldwork, hiking, and general exploring. They have kept my legs cool and protected and have held up well despite pushing them in hard conditions (fieldwork destroys everything!). I look forward to adding these pants to my travel bag as they are comfortable to wear all day and seem to stay fresh despite repeated wear day after day. Overall, the REI sun pants are a fantastic addition to your warm-weather hiking and travel kit - highly recommend!
Super comfortable, breathable and stretchy
I bought these for a saltwater fly fishing trip to the Yucatan. I needed stretch, quick dry, breathable, good fit. The gusseted crotch was perfect for the bending I had to do. It met every criteria. It has a very comfortable quilted waistband. We wade fished on the flats meaning I was in saltwater up to my knees and they dried very quickly. My only suggestions would be to add more colors and have a side leg cell phone pocket, otherwise these would be a 5 star product. Last summer we visited Tanzania on an REI safari trip and these would have been fabulous for that trip.
Straight and to the point
This is just a simplistic, straight-forward pant in the best way possible. Extremely comfortable and utilitarian. You can wear this anywhere, work, camping, climbing. Fit is spot on as well. Not too much taper at the legs (I hate skinny pants) so you can fit a pair of cowboy boots under them. Overall just a great, simple pant.
Poor quality
The pants themselves fit and feel great but the stitching in the pockets is subpar. The back pocket stitching just came apart and is now useless. Both pockets. Unfortunately the pants are now pretty much unusable because the performance material isn't something I can just hand stitch back together. They lasted about a year and a day, so refunding them is not an option. Good planned obsolescence design if that's what they were going for. Lasted exactly as long as it had to before they were off the hook. Be careful with the store brand, I guess.
Great Pants - Inside or Outside
Overall - I would highly recommend these pants due to their comfort, look, and bonus sun protection. Look - I really enjoy the look of the pants no matter if I was outside playing with the kids or at work or out to dinner. In this regard the pants are very functional. Fit - These pants are comfortable and fit as expected. The stretch material definitely gives the pants a comfort that is nice especially when being active. The ankle cuffs seemed a little small but did not give me any discomfort or slow me down.

Purchased these pants in store. Very comfortable and versatile. Perfect for ant activity or a casual night out.
Super comfortable, stretchy, rugged pants.
Loved these right out of the box. Wore them on several recent Olympic NP training hikes and they feel super comfortable with a heavy pack, scrambling up scree fields, and relaxing on bouldering problems at the campsite.
I wear these for work and for hiking
I wear these daily whether I’m working in the office or hiking. Very comfortable. They run small, I normally wear a 34 waist but had to get these in a 36 waist
Perfect everything pants
I’ve been wearing these pants since I bought them. They are perfect for active people that want versatility (work, hiking, dinner, etc). To be fair, my legs are on the thin side so I can see why they might be too tight for some. I’m actually ordering a few more.

Nice pants very stretchy , moves well doesn’t get all lose and stretched out after a few washes . rei please make more
