My 5 year old is in love

I waited to get my 5 year old a quality pack that will last him until he is ready for an adult pack. It is the same quality you expect in an Osprey bag. The pack is pretty basic, small front pocket is of good size. There is currently sunglasses and a bandana but it would definitely fit a small toy and a snack. The 1.5L reservoir fits in the reservoir sleeve perfectly and there is still plenty of room in the main pack, I would guess he could fit his rain jacket, sweatshirt, lunch, hammock, and a book in there. The adjustment straps for the shoulder pads have velcro to keep loose straps neat. Overall a great pack that will fit him for years to come.

Bomber kids pack, and he loves it

Kid loves it, and so do I. The fit is great and will last him a few years (he is 5) The 1.5 hydrapak fits perfect, and there is still plenty of room for a rain jacket, plus other things he might want on a day hike. The shoulder straps are mesh, with out the foam padding like in the daylite or daylite plus, a good weight cut, I think, as kids should only be carrying light loads. The adjustment straps for the shoulder have velcro loops on the end, an easy way to keep straps organized. Simple pockets to keep organized without being confusing.

Perfect for my average-sized 3yo

I bought this for my 3-year-old, who loves going on hikes and bicycle trips. Unlike all of the small adult-sized backpacks we tried on, this one fits him perfectly, and he loves it. It's roomy enough to fit a 1.5L hydration pack (although it's tight, might try 1L?) and has enough space to fit extra clothes and snacks. It's not the roomiest, and it has no hip support, but for a 3-year-old it's perfect. I'm hoping this lasts him through several years worth of hikes.

Too small for school. Doesn’t fit folders.

Great bag like everything from osprey. 4 stars only because it’s too small for school because it doesn’t fit folders.

Great pack!

My 5 year old grandson saw this pack and decided it was THE one he wanted. We hike a lot, and he carries his own load (food, water, jacket, etc.). This pack is well made and comfortable for him to carry. He liked the color and graphic design, as well as the fact it was made ""just like Granddaddy's pack.""

Great pack for little explorers

Got two of these packs for our 5 and 3 year old boys. Perfect for storing snacks and water for hikes and adventures. They fit them great and the boys love them. Perfect size for little explorers.

Great backpack

We love this backpack. My friend's 8 year old son uses it for hikes. Typically we hike from 3-7 miles at a time. He can fit a 2 liter water bladder.

I purchased this for my

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this for my 6-7yr old. He has used it on several backpacking vacations and hiking adventures. So far it seems durable, has been washed once due to sticky candy and has enough variable pockets for waterbottles, snacks, toys and tablets.
