Love it but unraveled
I was very happy with my purchase once it arrived. It’s very comfortable and I love that you can squish it down to pack in your suitcase. However, after wearing it only a handful of times, it started to unravel or split at the brim of the hat. Very disappointing.
Fantastic hat!
This is my favorite hat. The size is perfect - blocks enough sun out, it’s feminine and beautiful, it won’t fly away, it keeps its shape. I got a blue one and need to buy another one because I seem to have lost it. And in addition it makes a great golfing hat too!
Terrible quality - falls apart when used
Poor quality. Purchased for a trip that we just finished because it was packable. Wore the hat for less than 20 hours and only packed it twice. Very early in the trip, tahe rim lost all shape and flopped down in my face. Kept the sun out of my eyes, but had to hold the brim up to see. Later in the trip, I noticed a small hole where the layers of material was coming apart (2 inches long). Decided to pack the hat in my suitcase for the trip home, instead of wearing it. Apparently being flat in the suitcase was too much for it, because the small hole increased in size and now half the hat is coming apart. Very, very disappointed.
This hat fell apart immediately.
I have always been very impressed with the quality for price from Columbia. Until this hat. I purposefully wore it and didn’t pack it in my bag because I didn’t want it to be misshapen. Nevertheless it fell apart when I picked it up to wear it for some reason. Only the second time I attempted to wear it. I am extremely disappointed. Also for the record it runs a little large.
Fell apart after a few uses
I wore this a handful of times to the pool, and one day I put it on and the whole top of the hat popped off and my head poked through! I was shocked. Don’t waste your money
Newer version misses the mark
I bought this hat 4 years ago and LOVED it! I wore it till it was floppy and on its last breath! I was so excited to see they still sold it so purchased another online. This version is not the same. The material feels more like straw (the first was was a softer, more attractive material.) The S/M is also quite large. It fits me but I have a large head! I feel bad for women with smaller heads cause they would drown in it! The S/M in the original was much more snug but stretched slightly over time which was perfect for me. I am going to give this hat a chance as I am heading on a trip in a couple of days and need good sun protection but I won’t have as much pep in my step as I did 4 years ago!
Falling apart at the seams
Not packable at all. Folded it exactly the way pictured for my trip and it was ripped as soon as it unfolded.
Best hat ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this hat for three years now and it is still in perfect condition. I use it at least three times a week. I have gotten it completely submerged in the pool river and beach water several times and each time it dries completely normal. It’s truly packable, I often shove it into my day pack or carry on and it always bounces right back. The chin strap is strong enough to hold that hat on during wild boat rides. It also provides fantastic sun protection. I never put sunscreen on my face or neck when I wear this hat and I’ve never gotten a sunburn. I love love love this hat and can’t recommend it enough. I’m ordering one for my mom for her birthday

Not the same quality as a few years ago
I bought this hate about 4 years ago and wore it nonstop in the summer. After so much sweat and washing it was time to replace. The quality is much worse. It doesn't fit right, my ears get bent by the top, when I use the cord to keep it tight in the breeze it makes the sides droop down. I wear this hat for work so it looking somewhat stylish and not silly is one of the reasons I loved it so much. But being comfortable and functional was also... Necessary. Sadly won't be using this one as its getting returned. I just get so bummed out how good products get ruined by manufacturers trying to save money but charge more. I'm guessing it's on sale bc others are having the same experience as me.
