Sizing Notes

All Scarpa non-plastic footwear uses European sizing.

• 1 Euro whole size = 6.6 mm = 0.26 inches

• 1 US whole size = 8.4 mm = 0.33 inches

• The 30 Euro sizes above cover the same size range as 24 US sizes.

• More Euro sizes provide a better, more precise fit for your intended use.

Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.

Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.

Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing. Highlighted (or not) sizes share the same shell size; the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

Sturdy Hiking Boots

These boots are very sturdy and I love how the stiff sole lets me walk down 30-45 degree slopes (and steeper). As a geologist who hikes a lot, they are great especially for off-trail scrambling. The sole is quite stiff, it definitely takes a hike or two to get used to them. After a hiking season and several trips of field work, there’s not much damage to the outside of the boots. I am impressed by how durable they are so far. One of the hooks which the laces wind around has come loose and twisted, but is still functional. I also love the color! They're bright which is fun.

Good boot, just an awkward heel pinch spot

On my quest for a good mountaineering boot, I attempted these after I found that La Sportivas ran way too narrow for me. These boots worked great. There was only one issue. There was an awkward pinch at the heel that whatever hike I did (long or short), I’d get blisters and sometimes blisters on top of blisters. They also run slightly small. If you think the blisters wouldn’t be a problem for you, these are really good boots. Otherwise, I’d go with Lowa’s, which I have and use currently.
