Great shoes, highly recommended!
very comfortable shoes, simple but very stylish design, I fell in love with it from the first moment
Pretty but way toooo big
I ordered women’s sleuth mtb. The sizing is definitely off. It’s says Slueth W (which I assume means women’s) 6.5 on the outer tag and inside says 6.5 us and my feet are swimming in them. Which makes me believe they are men’s sizing not women’s The shoe is pretty and it seems very comfortable although I could really walk around due to the size. I am a true 6.5 in most shoes and a 7 in some due to a wide foot. I had no issues with exchanging the first pair due to size and now returning these ones for the same reason Attached is a photo of a similar style shoe that is a women’s 7 and you will see there is a huge difference.
Nice shoes but run VERY large
I wear a size 8.5 in almost every ordinary shoe. Occasionally I'll have to go half a size up or down, but usually I'm in the ballpark. These are WAY big. I ordered another pair in an 8--I'm not a hundred percent confident even those will fit, given how big these are, but I don't think I've ever in my adult life worn a 7.5. I'm waiting for the stores to open to return them (would be nice to have free return shipping--especially when it's the only option during the lockdown). And if worse comes to worse, I'll go down once more, but I really hope I won't have to go through this again.
Adjust your sizing expectations and they're great!
I read reviews from other folks and realized I needed to size down a full size. I usually wear between a 9.5 and 10, and bought an 8.5. My toe is right at the tip - though not uncomfortably. Usually I like a little room in the toe box, so I did briefly consider returning for a 9. But I've worn them a few times and they aren't uncomfortable at all, so I'm happy with keeping the 8.5 Know you need to size down and you'l be fine. I didn't find that the toe box was too narrow. Also they look great. I bought them in black because I know they'll get pretty dirty.
These run HUGE
I ordered my normal size 7 from Adidas and they were gigantic. Returned those and got the 6.5 from REI and they are still large. Even with thick socks, my foot still has 2” of space in at the end. Sadly they don’t come any smaller so I have to return these as soon as the stores open :(
Destroys ankles!
I currently have 4 different models of five ten shoes, and I bought the Sleuth to wear as a casual/workout/pump track shoe. Unfortunately, this model will destroy the bottoms of your ankle bones after 1/4 mile walk, unless you’re wearing thick hiking socks. For a shoe billed as a casual around town bike shoe, hiking socks don’t really jibe. Looks and quality are on point, but the sizing (size down) and collar design leave a lot to be desired. I shouldn’t be bleeding after ten minutes of walking my dog.
Excellent on and off the bike.
Lovely looking trainer that really grip the flat pedals. I thought about using toe clips but thought there might be times when I may have to put my foot down quicker so wanted something that would still grip the pedals and still be able to stop suddenly when by the canal. These are ideal and they grip a lot better than my regular trainers They also look good off the bike too but will only wear them when cycling as I don't want to wear the souls out more. For me the laces could do with being just slightly longer but I guess it makes them less likely to get caught up in the chain or cogs as they are.Stewy
Perfect for urban trails. Size down
Very pleased with this purchase thus far. They are comfortable on the bike. Stiff and sticky enough but not so stiff you can't walk comfortably when necessary. They are perfect for urban riding on streets and trails. Now, about the sizing. As many have mentioned, they run huge. For women's athletic shoes, I wear size 12 in Altras and 11.5 in Brooks and Asics. Street shoes, size 11. In these, size 10.5 fit perfectly with a little room to spare. Also have plenty of toe room but I do wonder if they might be too narrow for those who have wide feet.
Quite disappointed by fit
I dont quite understand how out of my 4 ordered sneakers, all of them fit this differently. This one right here is somehow so spacious in front that i feel like im swimming inside. Im not sure how durable the sneakers will perform, but im very disappointed in fit, i felt awkward while walking in it when i tried them on. It is worth of mentioning, that top part of the sneaker makes it look huge and not so pretty.
Brought them for my wife
I’ve been riding mountain bikes and wearing 510’s for years, finally talked my wife into coming riding. Brought her a bike and thought she needs shoes, only one choice really, 510’s. No other shoes can compete with the level of grip as them. I’ve had the original 510 Impacts which were great for grip but were bulky and seemed to suck any moisture that was in the vicinity into themselves. 510 made a great improvement with the Freeriders as they looked more like a normal pair of trainers. The Sleuth’s are another improvement as they really just look like a lovely pair of skate shoes She loves them, I love them, just need to wear my pair of freeriders out so I can buy a pair of these
