I am quite pleased with this shoe. I have a high arch and feet that run slightly narrow. I wear a women's size 10 and ordered the 10.5. I order a half size up with all athletic shoes and hiking boots to accommodate socks and prevent any pressure on my toes. Great fit! They are comfortable and offer some support. I cannot feel the cleats or pedal through the insoles. Allows a much more efficient pedal stroke than using regular shoes inside the pedal cages. I have in indoor Schwinn ic4 identical to the Bowflex c6. I feel very secure seated or standing, sprinting, or with heavy tension. The construction of this shoe seems solid and the materials of high quality. The strap is easily adjusted to allow for a more customized fit. There is some give to the upper material which is also breathable. As an added bonus, they look great. Sleek and modern. I only wish that I had purchased these shoes sooner. No more numb toes on longer rides because my foot naturally stays in a flat position now. Great shoe. Don't forget to order the cleat set as well. It took me a few tries to clip in and unclip, but I'm used to it now.
I really wanted to love these as they are super comfortable off the bike, however, my foot just didn't feel as secure and they really feel more like sneakers. At first I thought it was the sizing, which could have been a factor since I tried on a half a size lower in store and those seemed a bit better, however, I think it had more to do with the softness on the sides and bottom, compared to regular cycling shoes. I have a more narrow foot and the Pearl Izumi Quests feel much more stable and like I can really get the most out of my indoor cycling workout so I ended up exchanging these for a pair of those -- these Tiems might be better for a wider foot.
I just got mine in the mail. I bought the shoes because of the reviews that said they were good for wide feet. I'm super disappointed. As someone with *actual* wide feet, they are narrow in the arch area and do not stretch well. (I don't know what these reviewers think wide is.) I'm curious why more fabric isn't added to the top, especially considering that the straps can tighten the shoe anyway? It basically just results in boxing out plus size users with no benefit to straight sized people. I'm an 8.5/9ish is most shoes, I bought the 9 to be safe. I'm not sure going a size up would help. These fit tighter than a new pair of slip on vans... I mean, come on.
Most road shoes are too narrow and flat. I just switched my PELETON pedals to spd pedals - I was sick of stiff road shoes that crush my wide feet and cause bunions.1/2 size up is perfect (I'm a 7.5 went to 8). Comfortable. Supportive but light and cool, toes stay relaxed when spinning, and there's some arch support. Good sole support (other reviewers said too soft - I don't agree). Easy to fit the spd cleat for better form and easy to adjust fit with the wrap top strap. LOVE the CAMO style, quality. #TeamGritandGrace #Pelethon2020
These were suggested in a bike group I am in and it seemed that everyone loved them. I am normally a 7.5 to an 8 in running. I took a 7 in these (38 Euro in other brands) The 7.5 had way too much room above the toes, which left me with the 7. The instep was very tight for me. I think I have narrow feet and can slide into boots fine. The pressure on the top foot bone was a little too much to be comfortable. I really wanted to love these. I ended up finding another brand that did not squeeze the bone so much. The 7.5 was not any different for that upper bone pain. If I wanted to wear thicker socks, I am not sure I would be able to get my foot into either size. If you are worried about discomfort when trying this brand, I do suggest to try a few more brands to find the best fit!
Just gave them their first test run in an indoor cycle class and they're just right. After reading the reviews I was confused about which size to get but went with my usual size 10, with thin smartwool cycling socks, and the fit was practically perfect. My feet are average-to-wide and the width was fine. A little more snug on one side but felt like it would stretch enough as I break them in. I love the single-strap velcro for slipping into them fast before class. Breathable fabric, good look overall. I bought the red and am counting on the color to get me fired up!
Yes, the rumors are true....these shoes are amazing!!! I use them for indoor cycling. They are comfortable, they feel like a regular sneaker, and the biggest plus for me: clipping in and out of the bike is so easy!!! I have weakness to one of my legs, so the traditional spinning shoes were challenging when clipping in/out....but not anymore! With these shoes I go from my car to bike, bike to car. I no longer feel the need to rush to class to switch shoes or the need to walk on my heels. Is the little things in life that make a big difference! As far as sizing, I chose half a size smaller then my usual and they feel perfect, my feet don’t move at all during class. And of course, the staff at my local REI were able to install the cleats at no extra cost. I got the multidirectional cleats, by recommendation of the REI staff member....and yes, he was right, they work perfectly with the tiems!!
I teach indoor cycle classes and these shoes are really comfortable! I have a wide foot and high arch and these feel great. Usually an 8.5w in shoes and got these in a size 9
I’ve been eyeing these shoes for a few months waiting for a sale. Then finally purchased them during the REI anniversary sale. A friend of mine suggested them to me, and she’s gotten her certification to teach classes. That might give you a better idea of how often she has used her pair. These are so comfortable, and I don’t know why I waited so long to purchase my own spin shoes. I don’t have to switch to different shoes if I need to run to the store real quickly before or after classes. I am typically a size 8 and purchased an 8.5, and they fit great.
Amazing shoes. They made my cycling and spinning sessions a better experience. My feet are stable, I feel more balance on my bike, I can pedal faster and focus my energy on strengthening my legs and core instead of keeping my feet from slipping from the bike pedals. They are light, nice looking and offered good support to my feet while walking too.
