Brewess vs. Loyak

I bought these along with another Astral brand shoe to compare. I'd seen that Astrals tend to run small but so I sized up a half size. Normally I'm an 8 and I got an 8.5. The 8.5 were too big so I'm sending back. The shoe itself though seemed like a nice sturdy water shoe. Pro: Larger foot opening than the loyak, more cushion and seemed a bit more supportive overall. Seems like a better water shoe on a hiking day. Grip was great. Con: A little chunky if your looking for a simple water shoe for light activity only. More of a tennis shoe type fit. Wider overall.

Cute but uncomfortable
Sam

Really wanted to like these because I love that they don't look like the typical clunky water shoes. However, the seam from the tongue of the shoe presses against the top of my foot in an uncomfortable way and since I'm planning on using them as water shoes without socks, I'll be returning these. I ended up keeping the Astral Loyak instead, which are thinner (the Brewess feel like real shoes) but more comfortable without socks. I'm a size 8 women's and it seemed true to size.

Wow! So much better than expected!

I bought these shoes for a two week raft trip through the Grand Canyon. We hiked almost everyday. I wore these shoes with injinji toe socks. They were comfortable and sturdy. They were great for short hikes and creek walking. They dried quickly overnight, ready for the next day on the river. I usually wear a 7.5 and got size 8, which fit great. I highly recommended them.

These wonderful light shoes drained easily - always felt comfortable (worn barefoot) and gripped the board extremely well with standup Paddleboarding for hours! Perfect!

Wow I love these shoes for daily wear

These are the most comfortable shoes I own now. Soft and with good support and non slip soles. I wear them with wool socks and the shoes vent really well and are amazingly warm in very cold weather.

Cute and do what they say

These are awesome. Norway paddleboard trip and just around town. Dry fast and super cute. I wore them as regular walking shoes more than a couple days on the trip as well and they were great. I'd buy them again and recommend them to anyone.

Not a good inside seam

Not comfortable. This is my 3/4 pair of Astrals and I was sad to have to return them. The inside seem on inside of the foot rubs and is not well placed.

Too tight on instep

Too tight across the instep. I was hopeful that this she would work for me but my foot felt as though it was in a vice grip across the instep. Sadly, I had to return the shoes.

Love em

Great fit, so comfy. Very little arch support, so I inserted an arch support. Great traction on wet surfaces.
