Perfect historic city exploring pack

Adult Fit: Fit has been comfortable for all day city walking. It's very easy to adjust. I'm 6'3" and the pack was just big enough. Child Carrier: Very easy to get our 10 month old in and out of it. He was very comfortable during our walks through Charleston. He ended up taking all his naps in the pack. He is 21" long and the pack adjusted up just enough for his arms to be at a good height. Tips: - Chilly/Sunny Day: We used a light running jacket to help cover our son's legs. We started the unzipped jacket under the backpack straps and tied the arms of the jacket above where the built-in sunshade comes out. Once the folding stand was pushed back into the pack we tucked the lower zipper area of the jacket around the stand. - Paci: We used BooginHead paci straps and clipped the main paci to the front lifting strap. It kept the paci centered on the pack so our son could change his head position while sleeping. - Restaurants: Pack was at perfect height to hold toys beside the highchair. I did tuck my running jack into the upper mesh pouch, ran a jacket arm through the rear lifting strap, and tied Baby Einstein music toy to it. It allowed our son to play with the toy on the table, but kept the toy from hitting the floor once he was done. - Storage: I recommend using different colored dry sacks/bags to keep things organized in the bottom compartment. We didn't do that in the beginning and it was frustrating trying to find something we needed quickly. During our stay in Charleston I think I sold 4 of these and maybe an REI membership or two lol. My wife and I received comments all the time and received a lot of questions. Having this pack really allowed us to enjoy Charleston. Charleston has rough roads, sidewalks, and steps. We can't imagine how inconvenient it would have been to use a stroller. I think we are going to skip the stroller when we go to our local downtown areas now and just use this.

wanted to love it!!

The pack itself is study and had many pockets to store, diapers, wipes and other kid friendly items. The snaps on the pack that connect the holder to the base are very difficult to click. As a 5'1 mom the pack was a bit to big for my frame. I could not lift my head and put it in a straight position, and the lumbar support was painful for my back.

A very AWESOME carrier!!!

We got this for our grand baby (6 mos). He loves the outdoors & isn’t always happy in his stroller. This provided another option & he LOVES it!!! We first started using it on neighborhood walks but he took his first hiking trek in it & he did great. I did some comparisons of other packs & decided on the Osprey Poco because of the options it had, it’s weight, the other reviews & I know the brand is great. Things we love about it: lightweight & comfortable it fits ALL 4 of us (me 5’7 -140 lb, my husband 6,2” 240 lb, my son in law 5’10” 165 lb, my daughter 5’5” 115 lb): super easy to get baby in & out; safe & cozy baby compartment !!!; shade canopy is awesome & super easy to use & put away!!!!!!!; easy to put on and adjust to fit. I’m sure the cost might b a downside for some people but I believe u get what u pay for & this is a high quality made piece of equipment that will get so MUCH use & with that so much enjoyment!!!! I was able to apply one of the awesome REI coupons to save some $

Amazing pack, so happy we bought it!

I've been taking the little guy on 2-3 hour hikes in the mountains and so far the pack has been amazing! It has enough room to carry diapers/wipes, some food, a few extra layers for both of us and water for the day. Super comfortable for me and the baby seems to like it. He usually falls asleep toward the end of the hikes. I'm 6'4"" and my wife is 5'5"" and it's adjustable enough to fit both of us. The built in sun shade also works great. These packs are not cheap but I couldn't be happier with our decision! We use a lot of outdoor gear and this could be the best purchase we've made yet!

Great hiking carrier to use with kids

I use this hiking carrier both for my 3 years daughter and then at other times for my 10 month daughter. They sit super comfortable in the carrier and the sun shade feature really keeps the kids shaded under the sun. Oh and the carrier also has numerous pockets to put different things. I can even fit my 32 oz hydro flask inside the big pocket.

Good design ain't cheap.

Fits my smaller 8 month old really well, and you can tell will grow with her for some time. I did some try ons and compared in depth with both other models of the poco as well as the Thule, but the middle is just right considering osprey's line of carriers. The Plus model has an unnecessary amount of storage and you're unable to close it, whereas this model has a collapsable kickstand that makes the pack much more maneuverable. The sunscreen is far better on this than the LT, and the straps are far more comfortable. A lot of the weight gets transferred through the hip belt which is upgraded compared to the LT as well. The LT definitely packs down smaller, but this model felt much more shielded in case you eat it with the baby on your back.

Literally THE best child carrier.

This product changed my wife's and I life. I cannot say enough good thing about this pack. We use it for hiking, going to the store, and walking around the neighborhood. Our son really enjoys being in the carrier too! In fact he prefers this over a stroller any day of the week. The suspension on it is a dream when it comes to long day hikes. We love the retractable sun shade that's already built in. Comes in super handy when it's very sunny or when our sun refuses to wear his hat. The pack super comfortable and super stable. We have also fit a Osprey 1.5L water bladder in it. We are big fans of Osprey! This is the 3rd pack I have purchased from them. I am 6'1" and my wife is 4'10" Each of us can wear this and adjust it for our height with ease. Its super easy to wash/maintain. You can also fold the carrier flat when you are in the car for more storage space in the trunk. This carrier is worth every penny and I recommend this to all my buddies that have kids. Truly am thankful for such an awesome product that helps us be more mobile and hopefully will get our son into hiking at a young age. Be prepared on the trail to hear multiple questions about the pack and comments such as "Is he going to carry you back!?" "Wish someone would carry me like that." Etc. etc. If you are thinking about getting this DO IT. Hop to your local REI store and learn how to adjust it between you and your partner/fitting your child. Big appreciation to the Fairfax REI team for helping us learn how to do all that!

Probably will return

So there’s two things I don’t like about this carrier one is the pocket that you insert the osprey hydration bladder it’s very difficult to insert and remove from the pocket there’s just not enough room. 2) The shade cover for goes over the child also always gets stuck. It’s the first carrier I’ve ever purchased and I’m not fully satisfied with the design of it

Amazing on so many levels

This pack is our go-to and has been since our baby has been about 7mos. It is safe, supportive, has a ton of pockets/storage space so you can travel sans diaper bag, and is super ergonomically comfortable for baby and pack mule alike (momma/dada). We have used it hiking, dog walking (chuck it conveniently fits in open pocket), for vacuuming and chores around the house and even the grocery store; we bring this thing everywhere. This was a gift to us, but I would not want to live without it. If you're on the fence about buying/choosing a legit carrier, DO IT - you won't be disappointed. Words spoken by a self proclaimed minimalist.
