Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Versatile t-shirt
I love this shirt. I got the porcini heather color which reads as cream but has a bit of...taupe in it? The result is a wonderful color that is more opaque than a pure white or cream color. I also like that the neckline is not quite crew, but higher than a scoop. The sleeves are a drop-shoulder and a great length, longer than a cap sleeve. I am 5’8”, 150lb and got a medium (my normal top size) and love that it is a nice relaxed fit without being too oversized. I’ve worn this top on day hikes and it performs well, and I’ve also worn it with linen pants for a comfortable and casual weekend outfit. Great all-around shirt.
I love this shirt
I bought this shirt in the porcini color for outdoor activities. It's around 100 degrees daily where I live right now, so I needed something as cool as a tank that would protect my shoulders from the sun. This shirt is so soft and incredibly cool. It is not see-thru. I want to wear it everyday, but I have to wait on my size to come back in stock. It does not smell. I wore it all day today and I could hang it for the night and wear it again tomorrow. I bought a small and it skims my body, not baggy or tight and has plenty of airflow. Could wear an XS. For reference, I am 5'2, 110lbs, 34D and it comes past the button of my pants.
Love the original... anxious to try the new style
The first edition of the REI Sahara T-shirt is my absolute favorite hiking shirt. It is comfortable, quick drying and soft. My favorite thing about it was although it was a tech shirt it felt like cotton. The new version has a silkier feel. It reminds me of the Patagonia Capilene. It also fits differently. The older version taped out as it went down and the new version has a relaxed, straight fit. The only down side to the older version was that it pilled and faded after repeated washing. I am hoping the new version holds up better. I am excited to take it out. I bought it in every color in case it goes away again!
Fits like a box
I was looking for a very lightweight/quick dry t-shirt. This material is perfect for that & has SPF coverage. It would be very easy to hand wash & therefore probably great for travel/backpacking, etc. However, the torso is SUPER short & the shirt itself is incredibly wide. The XS was too short for me in the torso (and I'm not *that tall about 5'6" + extra) and hilariously wide. Feels like it would stretch out even further (width-wise), making it the strangest and most unflattering cut. Also impractical as I tried to wear with hiking pants & just couldn't be bothered as it travels up. Oh REI, decent concept, but the sizing/fit makes no sense. Returned.
Neckline is defective.
While the shirt fits fine, the neckline refuses to lay flat regardless of how firmly the shoulders are adjusted. Hopeful it's a defect in this particular item, but looking at the REI picture, it also shows a problem. I'd say it needs to be redesigned and a crew neck would be a better choice anyway. No one want a sunburn that low on the chest anyway.
Not quick drying
Material is soft and shirt fit is comfortable for athletics, but it is not quick drying in the least. I hiked in this shirt and it quickly became soaked. I'm not an exceptionally sweaty person, and I've never had issues with soaking through any shirts hiking unless they are cotton. Moisture wicking is great in theory, but the material has to actually dry or you're just walking around soggy. My hiking partner was sweating way more than me, and his Adiadas quick-dry shirt was completely dry within an hour. I hung my shirt up indoors after hiking to see how long it would take to dry and it was still soaked in the morning. I'll give it another shot on a short run, but I was very disappointed with the first wear.
Comfy but stanky
The shirt fits great and is very comfortable! I've worn it a number of times and do really like it, but one time I sweated quite profusely in it and I noticed that the smell really lingered even after several washes. I gave it a good soak using the "laundry stripping" protocol and that took care of it, but an average wash isn't enough to take the sweat smell away if you're a sweaty betty like me! I got it on sale for $15 and for the price I'm definitely happy with it and would purchase another. I purchased a size small and I think it fits true to size, a little on the relaxed side.
Right Price, Wrong Smell
I really liked this shirt initially. I liked the fit for me, loose but not baggy. However, it stunk up on the first day of a 4 night backpacking trip, and I could no longer enjoy the fresh air of the Sierras, stuck as i was in the malodorous bubble of my own scent. I washed it on the 3rd day with some Bronners, and it was better for a few hours, but was full force the next day. When I got home, washing it in the machine didn’t even get the smell out. I would say it was just me, but I wore the same outfit for the whole trip, and did not have issues with any of my other clothes.
New Favorite Outdoor Tee
Just like the headline entails this is absolutely my go-to tee for doing pretty much anything outdoors. It's so soft and comfortable enough to sleep in as well. I have hiked, ran, and camped in this tee and it is quick to dry, breathable, and still flattering at the end of it all. It has a nice relaxed fit which is nice because I don't like my clothes to be tight when I'm doing something outdoors. I bought the Nomad Brown Heather color, I was a little worried it wouldn't be a super flattering color, however it's really beautiful. Definitely going to buy in every color!
Excellent for sweaty activities
This t shirt was exactly what I was looking for! Great to sweat, lounge, and causal enough to wear to school (when it opens up again :/) Material held up extremely well after a long hike and bike in the humidity and heat in south Texas. I was only slightly worried about the fit ordering online during a pandemic, I don’t like skin tight but I don’t want the material to get stretched from sweat either, but the fit is true. I’m 5’5 123 lbs.
