Great extra pocket
I purchased this pouch to be centered between the side pockets on an Osprey Tempest daypack. The side pockets don't hold my phone, and (happily) this pouch holds my Galaxy S10 with a sturdy case plus a snack or two. There are 3 ways to attach the pouch: a wide loop, a narrower loop, and an even narrower sleeve stitched into the back. The back of the pouch is cushioned and helps it maintain its shape and not sag. I'm really happy with this purchase!
Not quite right
Was looking for something to substitute for side pockets on my pack. This isn’t quite large enough to fit my phone (I like easy access to take pictures), and it slides off the pack straps when unbuckled, so I have to watch to make sure I don’t leave it behind. Not quite what I was hoping for, but better than spending $ on a new pack!
Does what it's meant to, but sags as a packmod
Wife used this alternating between a belt "fanny pack" for work in the mountains and as a "packmod" for a Kelty pack she uses. Works great for the former, required a little taping of the straps for the latter. Otherwise, the straps slowly let out and sag, which is annoying but easily remedied by a penny's worth of electrical tape on the straps.
Adjustable straps come loose easily
Wanted storage for my cell phone on my backpack, but don't like the way the shoulder strap cases fit on my backpack so bought the hip belt pocket. My Pixel 6 is a squeeze to fit in length wise. Also, the adjustable straps that hold the Packmod Hipbelt Pocket onto the backpack's hip belt come loose easily and then the pocket rotates and pulls away from the pack. Glad to have access to my phone now for taking pics on my backpacking trips though.
Convenient
Bought to use with my Flash 55L, as the hip pockets are difficult to reach. Was able to place this in more of a fanny pack position to make essentials easier to access.
Great product
Perfect pouch to add to a backpack for quick access to items.
A need for the constant photo taker!
This little hipbelt packmod is something that I always wanted, but didn't actually knew it existed until I came across it on the website! I am always tucking my phone into my waistband, hiking while holding it, or foregoing photos I wish I could take because my phone is in my backpack. This is perfect to hold my phone and a little snack and slips easily onto the waistbelt of my daylite pack. Will definitely be taking this on all future day hikes!
*Almost* five stars
I really like this item! It looks small in real life, but actually holds quite a bit. It keeps its shape and doesn't flop around, making it much more comfortable than my home-made ones. lol The only con is that if it rains everything inside gets completely soaked. Definitely protect items with some kind of liner. Otherwise, I would have given it five stars.
Cell phone cover
I was looking for a waterproof cover for my cell phone. REI was out of regular cover. This didn’t secure to waist belt of backpack. Didn’t work for me. Easy return with great staff. I’ll wait for other cover.
Great for a day pack!
This pack is a generous size, perfect for storing quick-access items on my day pack belt. The only negative is that it is not water resistant; otherwise, I love it!
