Looks nice but doesn’t work well over grass
This looks really nice and is well made. I bought it specifically to use the Bonfire fire pit over grass. We have a dedicated area in our backyard lines with rocks for where we usually have bonfires, but we keep killing the grass around it. I figured with this I could put the Bonfire anywhere and we wanted and have a fire anywhere we wanted in the backyard. Had two fires in two different spots. The top of the grass underneath was singed both times. I didn’t think it was bad but now the grass is starting to look dead. Time will tell if it fully dies. Will wait and see. I might just need to buy a large round paver stone and use that instead.
Solo Stove addiction
We met a nice couple from Utah on our first camping trip with our little trailer. The couple had a unique campfire stove and six of us plus our granddaughter sat around the fire for at least one hour burning only a few small pieces of wood. No smoke, great flame, and burned so efficiently my husband and I returned home the next day and purchased the Bonfire! After using our Bonfire several times we saw the ad for the Bobfire Stand and knew it would give us more opportunities to use our Bonfire on grass and other services. We are Solo Stove addicts and will never go back to any other bonfire! Can’t wait to use on our next vacation!❤️
Nicely engineered!
This is a well engineered product. I usually notice a thing or two on products that I buy, where I say to myself “well they could have improved this or that”. They nailed this one, as they have with the other product I have purchased from solo stove. For example, heavy gauge steel, rolled on BOTH edges, and even embossed. I hope SoloStove is around for a long time and continues to make these great products. What is really like to see is a fire pit with a coil of attached stainless steel pipe that could be used to form a loop for heating water. Hint hint...
Adds versatility
This little stand is the missing link. The bottom of the pit gets hot enough to scorch whatever it’s sitting on. This little ring completely eliminates that. We use it on the green grass anywhere now without fear of damage. As long as you choose a spot that isn’t full of dry grass and other tinder, you can set it up just about anywhere as long as you have a stand to remove it from direct contact with the ground. You should sell this with the Bonfire.
Not integrated well, but a good accessory
I have had my solostove bonfire for a while and I just got the stand so that I could hopefully use it on my deck. The ring does its job in that it protects whatever is under it. Before I put the bonfire on my deck, I ran a long burn in my driveway with a piece of paper under the pit. The paper showed no sign of burning when the pit was on the ring - so the ring certainly works. The downside is that the solostove slides around on the ring way too easily. If you bump the pit, or if you are working the logs, the pit slides on the ring. The bottom of the pit and the top of the ring are very smooth surfaces, and there is not indentation or feature in the pit to make it work with the ring. The idea is great, the accessory works -- but the two parts should be better integrated. I will have to find a solution to increase the friction between the two parts.
solo stove
I love the stone the way it looks , the way it works, little smoke just at beginning. Puts off a lot of heat for the amount of wood you have to use. Not many ashes to clean up. Lite weight so i can move it from the deck to the lake shore and even hopefully on the ice this weather. One thing I wish it would of come with the ring that they are now making. Easy then the blocks I was using.
The perfect add-on!
This was a perfect companion to my Bonfire Stove.. I had been laying down a large slate under it so I could use it on my deck... and I would put the stove away, but leave the slate.. then break a toe... :\ But the ring just tucks right into the stove for storage, is VERY sturdy, and has made the whole scenario even more perfect! Thanks for this great add on! John
I love my stoves!
I might have a bit of a problem... i have 2 titans as well as 2 bonfires and I might need one more?! These things are amazing! The smaller ones work out fantastic for camp cooking and everyone that has seen the bonfire thinks it's magical. Puts out some great heat, awesome flames, and barely any smoke at all. I'll be back for another one soon I'm sure...
One ring to control the fire
Excellent! The ring is made better than I had hoped with the nice rolled edges. The height will keep it from burning the grass or deck and the holes all the way around it will keep the air space under the bonfire cooler to keep the surface it’s sitting on cooler. Great idea. Great functionality. I even like that it fits inside my bonfire for storage.
Game Changer
I live on the beach and use my Bonfire all the time. Problem was, with all the use, sand would often clog up the bottom vent holes. The stand completely eliminates that issue. It's amazing. Such a cool add-on. And, now when I'm too lazy to walk 150' to the beach, I can fire up my Bonfire on the deck with no worries. Awesome.
