love them, but short
I have had these for a couple years and love them, but have found them to be a smidge short. I definitely recommend going for the longer XL ones. the Helios design, though, is great and I won't go back to Atlas straps if I can help it!

a little short and difficult to use
I have Atlas straps, these Helios straps, and the Helios XL.... I recommend Atlas of the three. These have proven to be a bit short, and the XL are so long they can only be used with trees that are more than say 15+ feet apart. I also find the whoopie knot system difficult to adjust. Even after handling them a number of times, my ability to operate them intuitively has not improved. I’m not a knot dummy but every time is like the first time with these things — I feel like I have to relearn how they work every time I pick them up. On the plus side, they are amazingly light and compact

Easy to use and lightweight

Upgraded to these to get a lighter suspension system for a backpacking trip. Lightweight and easy to set up. The rope system seems like it could eventually wear faster than the nylon straps on the Atlas system but I have not seen any evidence of that so far after 10 uses. Overall very easy to set up and adjust.

A must for lightning your load

I had a pair of the extra long but when I bought my Eno skylight Ridge hammock the long ones were just a little bit too long so I bought the shorter ones. Absolutely love it their lightweight easy to work. The only thing is I wish they had a little ball to keep it from getting too tight but other than that it’s a five star product highly recommended.

Verdict still out

Bought these for the wider range of adjustability than is available with my ENO Atlas straps. I've only testing the Helios straps with my hammock in the backyard. So far so good. The straps are plenty strong enough for my 200 lbs. While certainly not complicated, they're simply not as simple or straightforward as the Atlas straps. But the Helios straps succeed in the enabling a wider range of tension beyond the sewn loops. Gotta admit, if its cold and dark and I'm tired, I think I'd prefer the Atlas straps for their simplicity. I'm also a little concerned that the Helios straps might not work with larger trees. But I will not know for sure until I take them into the woods and experiment with various tree spacing and trunk diameters.

Great light weight alternative.

These are a great replacement for the atlas straps if you’re looking to save weight. Easy to use, but one did come loose when I was tossing and turning. That may have been operator error though. 4 stars because they should be a little longer. Definitely consider the longer version if you’re buying these to take your hammock in the backcountry.

so good

THIS IS SO LIGHT. I'm talking half the weight of the helios straps. Take up a lot less space in the pack, too. Well worth the extra few dollars, especially if shaving weight is your goal. You could go on overnights with a day pack if you had this, a hammock, a bear can & a water filter. Great stuff. Really shocked by how light it is.

2200+miles

Never had an issue thru hiking the Appalachian Trail. Light, easy to use, and durable. Plenty of versatility for small and large trees. Held up well for 6 months.

Easy to use

Easy to use, easy to set up, and adjust. I'd using on large diameter trees, I'd suggest carrying daisy chain straps then attaching to those

Great quality, but length is extremely short

I got these and immediately discovered in my backyard that these appear to be shorter than what I would consider standard length. They would not reach out to trees unless they were very close together. I returned and got the XL version of these which I am much happier with.
