Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Love the new thumb design
This top is so warm and snuggly. The waffle pattern on the inside is so soft and really seems to help keep you warm. The hood is pretty tight fitting, but I can imagine in colder weather it will be great to have less places for wind to sneak through. When the hood is down, it looks more of like a cowl neck shirt than a hoodie. I love the new thumb hole design! As someone who has longer arms, I often like the thumb hole option because it makes the sleeve long enough to fit properly. This new thumb hole is great because blends into the cuff and it doesn't look like there is a hole in the shirt at the wrist.
Great for winter running
Wore this on my run today (20 degrees) and I loved it! The hood is a little tight getting on but after that it’s great. It’s not suffocating and kept me warm on my run especially my cheeks. Highly recommend I will be buying another one.
Excellent Shirt
I really like this shirt! I was looking for a heavier-but-not-sweatshirt/fleece shirt for cooler weather hikes, and came across this one. The fit is slightly loose; I usually wear a M or L and decided to size up to the L in case I wanted to layer underneath it, however had I gone with the M, I feel like I wouldn't've been able to wear anything else. I really like the thumbholes and side pocket! As other reviewers noted, the neck is SUPER tight--take off your glasses before putting this shirt on or off--but once it's on, it doesn't feel like you're being choked; it's quite comfy. I bought the blue and wish it came in other colors.
Love it
I find myself just wearing it around the house because of how comfortable the material is. It fits well, maybe a little long on me, but I have a short torso and most women's-style clothes fit similarly (I bought a small). The hood is nice, and when its down looks close to a turtle-neck in the front with how it lays. The color is a bit darker than what is shown but I actually like it more.
Love this shirt!
I love this hoodie, and wear it all the time, even though it's July! The blue is gorgeous, and the construction is both tough and comfortable. Love that the thumb holes are very low profile but still feel well-constructed. One note is that I got a medium, which is usually a little roomy for me, and this one is not too small but is not roomy. I can wear it alone or over a tank top and it fits just about perfectly, but it feels too tight and sort of frumpy over a t-shirt. If you want a roomy pullover, order a size up. That said, I would totally recommend this shirt!
A very nice lightweight hoodie
I wore this shirt hoodie while doing trail maintenance in Wisconsin's north woods during the summer months. It helped keep the bugs off (though mosquitoes got through at the forearms) and I liked the high neck when the hood was up. A little bug spray on my clothing and I was comfortable. I like the thumb loops and it really does fit well- true to size! My only dislike is that when getting it on/off the neck isn't very stretchy, so it's a tight squeeze over your face. Otherwise, it's a good lightweight piece to wear in an air conditioned office and out in the field when it's 75+ outside. There's a zip pocket on one side that reaches towards the back. I like having a pocket, but I'd rather have a single pocket in the front like most hoodies.
Excellent base layer - love the hood!
This is my new favorite base layer. It’s warm and soft and moisture wicking. Others have commented on the hood and the pocket and I have to disagree. The hood is PERFECT for wearing underneath your helmet on extra cold days, and I can pull up the neck gaiter and zip up my goretex jacket but have a nice, soft layer between my jacket and my skin. On warm days, I wear just this layer + goretex and on cold days I wear this layer + mid layer + goretex. I also love the weird little pocket, it’s a perfect place for cyclists because the pocket goes towards your back instead of your belly (the layer is so tight to my body that I feel a pocket on my belly would be weirder). Anyway, I am probably going to buy one in every color because I love it that much.
Comparable to the MHW Ghee maybe?
I bought this hoping (in spite of the item description) that it might be light enough to use as a summer layer since I'm a desert dweller and the sun is angry. It does seem light enough to be worn in the summer heat and I plan to get all sorts of sand ground into it hiking, biking, or climbing, but it's potentially too heavy to be worn as a layer while paddling on the river or in the middle of the day in full sun. I think it's somewhere in between the weight of the Mountain Hardware Crater Lake Hoody and the Mountain Hardware Ghee Hoody. I'm 5'8" and got the small. The torso length is great and the arms fit too (I have long frog arms so that's always a concern). The neck opening is a little tight to pop my head through but appropriate once I'm in. The scuba hood is tight enough that it stayed in place for a jog, and kept my neck warm. I really like the burnt orange heather color, because #desertvibes. I'm happy to have used my members coupon on this item!
Thermal active top with a few quirks
The first thing I noticed about this top is that the neck hole is very narrow and there is some resistance pulling it over your head. This is to allow for the elongated neck to stand upright almost like a gaiter when the hood is up. It did not stay up for me when the hood is down. The hood can either fit closely around the face and under the chin or loosely cover the area in front of the mouth. It does not fit as closely as a true gaiter would. The hood fits rather close to the head which was fine and comfortable with short hair. Those with very long hair might have different thoughts about the comfort of the fit. The top has thumb loops but it is a narrow loop stitched into the cuff edge, rather than a thumb hole inserted into the sleeve. This is not my preferred design but it does work better if you are planning to wear gloves. There is an oddly placed rear side pocket that is essentially on the upper part of the rear hip. A standard size iPhone fits somewhat awkwardly but a larger sized phone such as an iPhone Plus or many Android phones would not fit into this pocket. Opening and closing it smoothly required 2 hands reaching around. The top is warm and breathable. The cut is relatively slim since it is designed as a base layer but it can also be worn comfortably as an outer or mid layer over a t-shirt. Sizing and fit were as expected for REI. I would wear alone for runs on days when temps are in the 40s to maybe low 50s and under a light jacket or other more insulated top layer on colder days.
Super warm for the weight
My new go-to pullover for hiking. It is fairly light-weight, but amazingly warm. Perfect for evenings in camp after a day of hiking. The hood is deep and snug enough to stay put during windy days. Also make a good pillow at night.
