I went crazy!

So, I got the Helinox Cot One from REI on a 20% off sale (cha-ching!) and it arrived just 3 days later and I set it up that night. I am a chubby 220 lbs and 5'7" (please don't fight over me, ladies) so getting up out of it from a prone position, is like watching the worst student in a yoga class. A few days later, another knock at the door, and Ms UPS delivers the legs (sold seperately) for this amazing cot. LET ME TELL YOU...it is a WORLD of difference! No longer having to climb out of it with the mindset of "how the heck am I going to get out of this?!?", I now wake up, swing my legs off, sit up and I am now on a very comfortable bench seat, stretching and yawning like one would do out of their own bed. Alot people cannot justify the price of this cot. These same people cannot justify the price of a Rolls Royce Phantom, but if you try either, you'll never regret either because this is the Rolls Royce of cots. It's FIRM. It's TAUT. It's Super Light, and you'll not need to pack a chair if you get the legs for this. It has changed my enthusiasm for camping to the maximum. I love it! And because I am just a nutcase and stuck inside during this pandemic, I bought a Thermarest Cot Bug Net and it fit PERFECTLY! I then put in my sleep system (Thermarest NeoAir Xtherm, Nemo Strato Loft 25) and slept 3 nights straight in my cot. I squirm around in bed...sheets flying off, pillows on the floor, and I wake up wondering if a tornado struck. In this cot setup, not only did I sleep perfectly, but NOTHING MOVED. No sliding, no falling, no wondering if a bear attacked. Best purchase I have had in a long time!

Impossible to assemble
Russell

This cot was impossible to put together, even with two people working at it. The directions were unintelligible but eventually we figured out how to put the cot together. However, even using “body strength” as the instructions suggest, we were unable to insert the third support in place or latch any of the supports in place. I will be returning this cot.

Great easy to set up cot

I raft and camp along the river often so sometimes we are in coarse river stones. This cot is easy to set up. when you close the clamp on the legs use your palm and put your weight on it, very easy and no pinching fingers from gripping it. When you take it down just put a little downward tension on the legs and it opens easily. Im 65 and a women and can do it easily. Very taught surface I like it with a pad, great that it doesn't have a lot of parts.

Worth every dime!

Just came back from the Canadian Boundary Waters. My Helinox cot was the shizzle! Light weight to portage in. Got the best night sleep I ever had. I also purchased the legs for it so I wouldn’t have to craw off the floor. Nice to have a place to sit while in my tent. Light, well built, sturdy and comfortable. Easy to put up and take apart. Worth every dime. Strongly recommend.

Great Cot

I do a lot of camping every year. Bought this cot so I didn’t have to sleep on the ground. Just used it for 8 nights on a bicycle ride across North Carolina. Worked perfect. Fits inside my Nemo Dragonfly 2. As others have said, it sleeps cold. No insulation under you. I had to make sure my quilt wrapped under me. Setup and take down is easy. Probably took me 3 minutes to do each. Definitely recommend as it is light and comfortable.

Excellent cot - but pricey

A few years ago I discovered the beauty of using a cot while camping. The increase in comfort is huge, and with cots getting smaller and lighter the utility increases. This cot is excellent. It’s not the lightest cot, but it packs down small and is easy to set up. The low height makes it useable even in relatively small tents. It is also very firm and comfortable to sleep on. Having said that, the convertible part is where this cot really shines. With extra legs you can get it off the floor so you can even sit on your cot. Almost like a bed away from home.

Amazing Cot

This has been by far one of my best purchases. I have mine in my car and has been a life saver many times.. it’s extremely lightweight, and easy to assemble. Because of the height, it makes it easy to get on and off.. Excellent for camping, i’ve taken it out at the lake and received many complaints. And I don’t have to worry when visiting family and they have no more room.. I take my cot and always have somewhere to sleep

Light, quality material, and easy set up! Just make sure you have the middle bar portion of the legs flipped the right way. I had it wrong and it made it sag and legs fall off. It says on the middle bar of legs "this side up" ;) Thanks so much to Helinox for another great product. Thanks REI.

Have had this cot for a couple years now and it's my favorite piece of gear. Sleeping pads just never did the trick for me. It can be a bit tricky to assemble the first couple of times, but it's second nature now. I have the leg extensions (worth every penny) but even without them it gets you off the ground and allows for a great night of sleep. It's been from Montana to Big Bend NP and it's been outstanding the whole way.

Amazing cot

Originally intended for just camping but started using it almost everyday for the past 8 months. The firmness helps with my lower back. I'm impressed by its lightweight and portability I even bring it with me as a carry on for flights. I've wondered if the sheet would still feel the same with so much use. Got a new one recently to build up the family gear and happy to say I didn't notice any difference to a brand new one.

Finally something that cannot deflate.....

I set this up in my living room and had a very comfy nights sleep. I look forward to trying it on our next car camping trip. I appreciate the prior reviews on the tricks to getting it set up and broken down again. The connections are very tight, and I have small hands, so it was definitely a learning process.
