Garbage eyelets

I am super bummed about these boots. I've owned numerous pairs of Merrell in the past and have always loved them and their quality. These are no good. The first time putting them on and cinching the laces, the top eyelet popped right off. It's plastic with a metal backing it "plugs" into. Tried to put it back together but it keeps popping out. Terribly cheap. It happened on both boots. The rest of the boot seems well made but they are useless with such junky eyelets. Now I have to go through the hassle on of sending them back. Sorry Merrell but you really let me down on these.

Perfect Cold Weather Boot

Had a pair of these for the past three years and mostly used during the winter months. They keep your feet warm, feel great, and don't allow any moisture in. The only two things that could improve them is the seam on the inside of the boots broke open after a few long trips but didn't seem to let any water or moisture in from melted snow (see pic) and once the tread gets worn down just a little bit seems to hinder the traction I was getting. Again both of these things happened after some extensive use and are very minor. Love these boots and would absolutely buy again

Avoid, poorly made.

Poorly built. The top lacing pieces fell off the boots on first time lacing them up. Very poorly made. Customer service was fantastic in replacing them though. So that's a + for them.

Comfortable

Bought this version 2 years ago have only worn a few seasons. If you're looking for a comfortable boot this is it. They are absolutely not waterproof at all. As I walked i could feel my toes getting wet first then all the way up to the top of my foot. After owning several pairs of Merrell boots maybe it's time to change. Maybe the Made in China has something to do with it.

For the harshest of winters.

I purchased these for my first job in Vermont after moving from Kentucky. Most of the day on my feet working as security officer making rounds in and around a large mountain resort. Snow, water, freezing rain, you name it, these boots come through and perform exceptionally well. Temperatures with wind chill could get to 30-40 below. The boots are always warm and comfortable to my feet. I'm serious when I say I've literally worn them everyday now for over 2 years.... for everything. Now to buy another pair. I will continue to wear my original pair for working outside around my house, and the new pair as my Sunday-go-to-meeting shoes. :)

Vary Nice Boot and Extremely Comfortable

The first morning I had them, I was just dressed for work in an office environment and just wanted to wear them. I live right on a river and noticed it was rising that morning and was about 4" above my dock with my two kayaks out there floating freely within the handrails. At 8 in the morning, I walked out to them in the 3-4" of water in my dress clothes and pulled the kayaks in to my boathouse. My feet never got the least bit wet and never even could tell that my feet were ever in water. I got straight in my car and drove to work after that... These boots are amazingly comfortable and 100% waterproof and they look good. I always get compliments on them.

eyelets

Similar to other users, the eyelet came off on my third time ever wearing these. Ridiculous! I'm very disappointed in these. I did like how light these were, the comfort was pretty good too, slightly narrow fitting I found

Low quality lacing system. Narrow fit.

I purchased the boots 3 weeks ago. I was on the "fence" about whether to return the product after my initial trial-fitting because the width was a bit tight even though I bumped my sizing up a 1/2 size. During my 3rd fitting attempt using a different sock, the plastic lacing eyelet popped off the boot while I was cinching-up the laces. Merrell is my go-to company for quality and comfort in hiking shoes and boots, but my overall impression is that Merrell's design/construction quality has dropped off at this price point.

Warm and Water Proof

Bought these just before the snow started to fall in Michigan. I've used them for snow blowing and just some trips for various errands. My impressions so far are they are water proof and warm. No problems with the eyelets. The laces are a bit weird in that they want to loosen up as your tying them down. They seem to be stretchy. The boots for me at least seem a bit narrow but I really haven't broken them in yet. Overall they are a good looking boot; quality seems fine. Traction on snow and ice is very good.

Comfortable, warm and dry

These boots were purchased for golf when it is cold and wet outside. I have used them a couple of times. They are warm and completely waterproof. The traction on the bottom is good for hiking or walking a golf course and they do not tear up the greens. They also give good ankle support if you have any ankle issues. Just find the right size and you will be happy. I also got them to use on cool mornings with heavy dew on the ground and they are perfectly waterproof for that kind of water as well
