Disappointing pair of shoes
I had my eye on these boots for awhile, but they were pretty disappointing. The tongue had this extra amount of fabric in it that dug into the top of my foot, and nothing would fix or alleviate it. Even after trying different socks and rearranging the tongue and the laces, I eventually gave up on these boots. They’re just not very well-made, and I planned to wear them as everyday boots, not even as hiking boots. There’s also a strange gap in between the tongue and the side of the boot, causing a rather large part of your foot that is exposed, so I imagine if someone was wearing them as hiking boots and expect to stay dry and protected that they might be disappointed. Bummer.
Awesome hikers.
Got these about a week ago and took on a camping/hiking trip in the Sierras to break them in. While they weren’t as “out of the box” comfortable as some hiking shoes I’ve purchased, they break in quickly and are super comfortable! They’re also lighter on the foot than they look, and feel like the skate shoes I used to wear in middle school! The traction is fantastic, they’re super breathable, and the rugged soles kept my toes safe at night- I forgot my headlamp and bumped in to things a lot. Price tag is a bit steep for me but my member refund helped. Would definitely recommend, and I kind of want the slip on versions, too!
So cute but...
I have wide feet and need arch support. When I first tried these on they felt amazing. Wore couple times for few hours no issues. I work a 3 day 12 hour shifts back to back. By the end of the second day wearing these at work my feet KILLING me! I work in a lab on concrete all day. They ARE so cute. Get them and hopefully they are comfy for you. I'm still giving 3 stars because i love the look. I got the black. Normally wear 9 or 9½. Got 9¹½
Durable & stylish for everyday use
I bought them for everyday use. I have not taken them hiking just yet but I have walked long distances with them and I wear them almost everyday for more than 10 hours and these look as new! They are a little stiff but nothing that would cause me discomfort. Use long socks to cover your ankles or you’ll get some mild irritation. Also, the arch is a little high but it doesn’t cause me any pain. I feel it has more support actually. They’re anti slippery so these are fantastic when working at a photography lab where there are drips everywhere. I also got many complements too!
Pretty good shoes
I ordered the green ones but meant to order black. When they came they were a little big (i usually wear 6.5 but ordered 7 just in case, usually do that for hiking boots or sneakers). So i went to a local REI hoping for black. They had one 6.5 which felt good except my toe hit. So i drove 40 mins to another REI. They only had one black 7. So i tried it and the tongue had this weird bunch on it that really hurt the top of my foot. (also in person the black looks super faded, not like dark gray which is looks like online. It looks like old faded black.) I'm not sure these boots are made that well, seemed to be inconsistencies among all of the ones i tried on. Finally gave up and went home with the original green ones i got in the mail. They should fit ok with thicker socks, however the black ones are cuter on and casual/low key enough to look like regular every day shoes. The green ones are cute but look more like hiking boots. They are pretty comfy, and i'm happy they have an arch. The green leather is more durable than the black.
Nice, but sizing inconsistent
Nice boot for everyday and walking. Good arch support. I found the sizing a bit weird. Ordered a 9 and a 9.5 which I found both to be a similar size, a little tight. The 9 was shorter than what I normally get in a 9. Then ordered the 10 which was huge, definitely a full size bigger than the 9.5, not a half size bigger. Stuck with the 9.5 as I assume the leather will soften a little. Not sure if the manufacturer sees it as a light hiking boot alternative - REI classified it correctly as a casual boot. Would not use this for anything other than a walk on a paved path.
Perfect sneaker boot!
I bought these shoes for my 10 day trip to Bosnia. This was the first time wearing them and they were great! No breaking in required. It was winter and we did so much walking and my feet were warm and never hurt! I did some hiking in the snow as well and they are absolutely waterproof! They are cute and stylish as well; paired them with jeans and leggings. Very happy with my purchase!!!
Most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn
I am truly baffled by the 5 star reviews on this shoe. This is hands down the most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn. I'm used to shoes with minimal padding and arch support but these have absolutely zero. They clearly run small, and while my right foot is the one that is a tad bigger, and usually fitting a little tighter, that shoe is actually larger than the left. I have corns on both feet, which I have *never* had before. There is no give - I've been wearing them for 3 months (I can't afford to replace them yet, and need waterproof shoes - and these were $150, hands down the most expensive shoes I've ever bought) and they still have zero bend or give in the upper and I'll be switching back to the uglier Teva's as soon as I can afford to.
Unfortunately had to return these
Unfortunately there was some issues with the tounge of this shoe, when tied there was an extra fold of fabric would dig into my foot.
Practical, cute, comfortable!
I have worn these shoes every day all day for the past week. Very comfortable and no break in period necessary. I bought my exact size and they fit perfectly. My favorite thing about this shoe is being able to swap the insole that came with the shoe with the insole that I always use in my running shoes (I have very high arches and need the additional support). I read all the reviews and was hesitant when reading about the seam in the back of the shoe, but I have had not any issues at all. I like them so much that I ordered a second pair in the olive. I feel like I am wearing my running shoes.
