Bottom line up front: I got a warranty replacement on this because the back pouch bottom stitch came out after about 50 miles. Also wish it came with a rescue whistle. Seems weird that it didn't. Bought this in my efforts to go lighter and smaller with my long distance running hydration. Have purchased and returned a number of the salomon products due to fit. This was OSFA and adjusted to my exact needs. Cut down a ton of the straps and the replacement has stood up well so far. Overall great design but needs some tweaks on quality and features. Did 28 miles unsupported using only what I could fit in this.
This vest cannot be adjusted to fit my small body. I am 5'1", 110lb, female with a 34" chest. I own the Salomon ADV Sense 12 Set, XS, and it is WONDERFUL. I wanted something with more air flow for the hot summer months in Southern Arizona. I used my 12 Set bottles, full of water, to try on this Agile 2 Set and was unable to create a fit where the bottles did not bounce. The bounce largely occurs because the bottles sit higher on my chest than in the 12 Set and the vest has no sides. When adjusted so it fit, I had 2.5 feet of strap hanging on each side and big bottle bouce. I do not recommend this product for small people.
2 miles into my first run with this pack the stitching that runs along the bottom of the pack pocket broke rendering the back pocket useless. I had my phone and a small jacket in the back and was forced to carry them the rest of the run. The soft flasks are the older salomon style and they are difficult to slide into the pack. I have a set of the newer salomon flasks with the harder bottoms that slide nicely into the pack. Fit is great and it is nice and lightweight. The durability issue is a big turn off though. Other than that the pack looks pretty well made so I am going to try and mend the back pocket and reinforce it with some stronger stitching. I paid $50.00 for this with my REI coupon so it was worthwhile. I've seen these selling for $90 to $100 and I am sure you can get a better pack for that price.
I absolutely love this vest! A lot of times on regular runs I just need a small amount of water and a place for my phone or a lightweight jacket. This vest is perfect for me. It’s like I’m not wearing anything and has no bounce at all! It’s a one size fits all and the straps are long enough to fit a variety of sizes.
The zipper on the left-side pocket broke off after 3 months of use. I returned and received a refund. Too bad the original price is back up to $70 from the $40 i bought it at originally.
