Size runs much smaller than previous versions
Construction seems solid but this version runs much smaller than previous. If you had the earlier version of Maverick gloves you will need at least one size larger for these ones. I need to return the ones I just received due to this.
seem great
These run pretty small, I’m usual a large in most gloves and ordered and XL in these. The thumb is way to short still. Trying an XXL and keeping my fingers crossed!
Great Paddling Thermal Protection
Good gloves. Thick enough to help protect against cold weather/water temps. Make sure you size them properly. I generally fit nicely into a Large glove size. These are a bit tight on me and have caused some circulation flow issues. Adjusting them helped me with this issue.
Solid glove, but a bit heavy for paddling
Overall a very well built glove, that runs at least a size too small. The gloves will keep your hands dry and warm in a wet environment, but I found these far too heavy to use for paddling with a Greenland style paddle. For a traditional round shaft paddle these may work okay, but mamba/pogies might be a better choice.
Warm and Dry
Wore these for 3 days of Swiftwater Rescue Training on the Stanislaus river in CA. Weather was a bit cooler. High 60's with the water being in low 50s. These worked great. They are a bit tough to get on but as long as your roll the wrist part up they aren't too bad. Furthermore, ropes are hard to tie with these on. TLDR: Will they keep your hands warm and dry? Yes. Are they useful in rescue situations? It depends. I would order a size larger if you plan on constantly taking them on and off.
Warm and Dry
Gloves are comfortable and kept my hands warm and dry during early Spring paddling.
Excellent glove liner
Lightweight gloves fit snuggly so they can be used under other gloves easily. Feel warm enough alone for shoulder season runs.
