5 years and going strong!

I have had the green 35l for 5 years and it is still tough as nails. I honestly have no idea if it is completely waterproof any more but nothing is when you drag it through rough usage for years on end. I have traveled for months, commuted 14 miles a day on my bike for years, used it for outdoor work for 4 years, and just treated this bag like dirt and it still is awesome. Dope bag and i would highly recommend trying one for yourself!

Coating ragged even at delivery

I ordered the 65l and 115l Black Canyon bags for packrafting. The bags look really good, comfortable to carry and well designed. Many things are adjustable to content and body. But as I took a closer look on the bag, I saw that the coating was scratched at two places so the white lining gets visible. And at a even closer look, there were some more spots where the coating isn't good – all of those spots are where the bag was folded. As you have to fold it for closing and crinkling is quiet normal in use, I guess the bag could loose its waterproofness quickly. If it gets damaged by shipping I ask myself how it gets around with rough conditions

Perfect for the die hard hike in boater!

I use my pack every three days and it is one of the best out there! Hiking down the steep trail with a loaded pack isn't easy. But with this pack, it makes it more enjoyable. The padded back helps when you accidentally put something sharp in the wrong place and the support helps when carrying large amounts of beer. I love how they integrated a frame pack style system into a dry bag. It makes my life way easier hiking to my boat every three days! Tons of room and super durable as well. I have put this pack to the test only owning it for a couple weeks. It has held up through thick and thin thus far. It's named the black canyon for a reason...

Great bags that keep your stuff dry when you aren't

I own a couple of these bags along with the Pro Dry Pack. I use them on all my outdoor whitewater trips and I am not nice to them. I have literally hiked with them through fire burns, dropped them down the sides of mountains, and sent them swimming down rapids. Every time, my stuff is secure, dry, and better off for being in this bags. The durability of these SealLines is unmatched by anything I have used and they are comfortable to wear for any portage. If you need something to keep your gear dry and accessible, pick one up.

Good big bag

This is my second SealLine Black Canyon Dry Pack (115 l). The shoulder straps, for some reason, pulled-out of my first Black Canyon pack after several wilderness canoe/camping trips, possibly due to too many portages and/or a bag packed too heavily. REI staff were kind enough to attempt a repair on my first Black Canyon bag, but I didn't want to take the chance of a shoulder strap failure in a wilderness area; thus, I purchase a second bag. These are good bags; possibly the best big bag going.

Great bag; Better customer service

I bought the 70L bag 8 years ago for use while crewing on a sailboat. As such, it had to be loaded with about 35 pounds of gear (squall gear, self-inflating PFD, etc.) It wasn't treated gently, but worked consistently great. So great I bought a second for my wife when she decided to join in the sailing fun. This year the pads connecting the straps to the original bag began to fail. Not knowing what glue was appropriate, I looked up info on the SealLine website and they recommended sending it in for repairs. A week later I received a brand new bag! No issues, no excuses. What a really awesome company.

Buckle Broke First Trip

I bought this item to use in the BWCAW. While it kept everything dry, the buckle on the side broke when my wife tightened it down, not even hard, just to remove the slack. Luckily it happened when we were paddling out Dissatisfied that it failed after the first use.

Well made products, amazing customer service and warranty

All of our seal line dry bags have been amazing and stood up well in extremely rugged conditions. When we had one strap come undone on a relatively new bag the company was wonderful with their support - providing advice on how to repair and then promptly following up with warranty. I think they are able to do this because the products are so well made that we personally haven't ever had to consider a repair until now. Thank you! and thank you for moving towards PVC free products as well.

Black Canyon 35L a good product

I've owned the 35L Black Canyon Portage Pack for about 5 years now and love it. A great product. It has been fishing in Alaska, Sailing in the Caribbean, on weekend getaways, and camping trips. It has taken a lot of abuse very well. Wish I could buy the 70L bag without the suspension system and inertchange the suspension system between the two bags. If this is possible! let me know.

tough and dry

bought these for solo canoeing and using them every trip. they seem very durable and have held up for a number of years. keeps out water from rain or a dump in the lake. Testing it for buoyancy in holding up my boat in order to right it, I found it will leak a bit through the seal if held submerged under pressure, but that would be very unusual circumstances.
