Bigger sized

I got the free rider few weeks ago unfortunately was half size too big. Ordered this model one size less and seems to be one size totally bigger than free rider! Honestly now I’m left with two pairs of shoes and both don’t fit. Free rider 8.5 Sleuth 8 (but is actually like size 9)

Great MTB shoe

What I can say, one of the best shoes for MTB. This SLX specifically is more stiffer and heavier than the regular Sleuth(canvas) because of the coated leather upper material. No biggie because it gives you a more stable platform when pedaling. Great protection from the elements like mud and water. Wipe that off and they look brand new again, that's a plus. As you know rubber sole is top notch and be aware that this show run big. I'm always size 13 and my two Sleuth(regular & SLX) are both size 12 with just a half an inch or less of clearance in the front. If you need a good quality MTB shoe this is it.

Comfortable with super grip

These trainers are stylish and are very comfortable whilst out riding. I went for the leather as when it’s wet you can just wipe over. The grip is very good on the pedals too. I’m a size 8 and went for a half size bigger, after reading other reviews and they fit perfect, especially the width. Been out in a few rides and no issues. Have already recommended these to friends.

Good MTB shoe

Great for mountain biking very grippy on pedals. My only issue is quality of build on the shoes glue marks where body joins the sole all way around but they’re gonna get bashed and dirty when riding so not over fussed.

best cycle shoes i've ever worn

I've had 3 different pair of cycle shoes and worn out many pairs of low cut hiking shoes while commuting; these are the best by far. Best fit, most comfortable on and off the bike, best grip on the pedal (amongst the non-SPDs), and the best looking. My wife even complimented them on date night. I didn't see how the sole would be able to grip so well (I use studded platforms on both my bikes) with the shallow tread, but it does.

Great for MTB'ing!

I switched from BMX to MTB this summer. I've been a fan of Vans for my whole life and worn them for biking and skateboarding as well as just casual use. I still love Vans but when I started riding MTB trails I quickly realized that Vans weren't gonna work. I'd heard that tech skate shoes work well and had a couple pair of DC's in good shape so I tried them. They were noticeably better with the stiff sole but still hard to nail foot placement due to the tread. Then I bought these Five Ten Sleuth's and oh man, they made a huge difference on the bike! Not the best support for everyday wear but incredible for trail riding! Highly recommend!

Magnificent...the most perfect shoe I have...

For me these shoes fit like a glove...the most perfect shoe I have. Quality is exemplary and durability is proving to be the same. I now have four pairs and only reluctantly wear other shoes. Out of the box they are a great comfortable fit. The soles are firm which is welcome on a bike. For daily use at work or out, a week or so of wearing in yields perfection. I've run out of colours to acquire. I have two pairs in black, one for everyday and one for best. Brown leather would be a great addition to the range. I'll have them as soon as they're available. Cant speak highly enough of these shoes, get yourself a pair today for a tangible improvement in your life.

Good looks, grippy, but runs a bit narrow.

I bought these primarily because I liked how they looked compared to other Five Ten mtb shoes. These look good on and off bike, with shorts and trousers. I also like how discrete the logo is. On bike, they grip my pedal pins almost like I’m clipped in. I’m nearly able to get my feet “wrapped” around the pedals when standing so it feels supportive on descending. For my feet they run just a bit narrow and the toe box is very low volume, even though I sized up by half a size. After a long day in them, especially if I’ve had to walk a lot, they get a little uncomfortable. But for a 3-4 hour ride they’re great.

Great Shoes.

Been mountain biking for two summers now. This is the first pair of shoes I bought specifically for the sport and I think they're excellent. Sticking to pedals better, which is all I wanted. They look cool as heck too.
