I've hiked in these boots for almost 3 years. They are very comfortable for my high arches and don't aggravate my plantar fasciitis. That's why I continue to hike in them. However, they lack in several other areas. They say waterproof but my feet get when if submerged in a shallow stream (covers the sole but not even close to the cuff of the boot). The traction is severely lacking. The sole is hard rubber and the lugs are not deep. When hiking on lose dirt and rock, out of all my friends, I am the one to slip a few times. Also, I have never got small rocks, sticks, and dirt inside my boots like I do with these and I have been hiking for 20 years.
I bought these boots online without trying them on prior to purchase. First thing first - it runs small for me. I have tried on other oboz women's shoes in-store, and 8.5 is perfectly fine for me with some wiggle room + comfortable. But apparently, this model's size runs small and a little narrower than I anticipated. The second problem for me is that after a 2 mi hike, the bottom of both my big toes was kind of hurting. It could be an adaptive period? I will try to figure out when I got the bigger size.
These are my very first hiking boots as I always wore regular tennis shoes and I cannot express how satisfied I am! I wore them on a hike the next day and had no issues and they were seriously so comfortable and sturdy. Also they are for sure water proof because I tested them out on every mud puddle on the trail. Also we ran into some snow and my feet never got cold. Buy them!!!
I explained my foot problems (pronation, sometimes arch pain) to the online fit assistant and he recommended these right away. And he was right! They're so comfortable!
I wanted to love these but am sadly disappointed. They were never waterproof from the beginning, the sole is sort of shaped like a boat, and even though I sized up, this made for an uncomfortable hiking experience it felt like my foot was in a little boat with curved edges. These are the first hiking boots to give me blisters. I would not purchase this brand again for how bad my experience has been over the last year of owning these boots.
I like the footbed of the Oboz. There is support in the arch but it isn't too hard. The grip on the tread is good. They break in easily. This is my 3rd pair of Oboz and I have been very happy with them all.
Comfortable and sturdy. Orthotics fit easily. Buying again now
