Good boot, rubs small
I bought this pair of boots a few days ago and have hiked about 6 miles in them. Initially they felt good but my middle toes went numb. Then, last night, I realized the tops of my toes es hurt.I chalked it up to the break in period. But today, when I put them on I realized that my toes are hitting the front of the boot and the narrowness is putting pressure on my mod foot. In terms of function, they are great boots. I’ve worn them through mud and up rock walls. They offer a lot of support. They are sturdy with good grip. I’m going to return them tomorrow for a size up. The red color is actually pretty awesome.

Not waterproof
These are NOT waterproof boots. I took mine into the snow today and within fifteen minutes the boots were soaked. I was wearing two layers of socks, and my feet were still wet. Not bad if I'm walking on a slightly muddy trail, but by no means are these boots waterproof.

REALLY keep my feet dry!

With the new Covid-era daily hiking routine replacing the gym and a climate crisis that means the forest floors in New Jersey are in a constant state of mud and streams to forge, the investment in these boots a couple of months ago has been a lifesaver. They are fairly stiff and I don't know that I would want to wear them all day, every day, but for a couple of hours each day, they are perfect and more waterproof than any hiking boot I have ever owned.

Size runs small

I think Oboz is just not a good fit for my fairly normal foot. Returned another style as it was too narrow and also was so firm at the top that it was uncomfortable). This one was too small (and I sized up) as I found my toe hitting against the top and if I laced it tighter, my foot was cramped. Although a high boot, the cut-out made it more comfortable The colour is more brown-red (oxblood)

Not the same as the insulated winter version

I bought the Bridger Bdry insulated winter boot and loved them- they were so comfortable, I could walk forever in them. I expected this boot to the the same. Unfortunately not! This boot does not fit the same at all. The toe box is extremely small and crushes my toes downwards. The sole is extremely hard with no cushioning and it is like walking on cement. After a couple of miles, my feet are aching.

Nice looking boot, but too narrow

Would like to have kept, good sturdy boot, and nice looking. But way too narrow.

I was so disappointed in these boots. My first hike with them was about 6 miles and my feet hurt so bad for a couple of days. They felt like they were just exhausted. I added some new inserts in them and my feet were no longer sore, but I got blisters on my heals. Unfortunately, I had purchased these boots from the garage sale so I could not return them. I already have given them away with the warnings of how much they hurt me.

Helped get my wife into hiking!

We planned for a big trip to New Zealand and realized that we needed some new gear, chief among them some good boots. In the years I've known her my wife wasn't really one for this kind of footwear - I could never get her to look at hiking boots because she thought they were chunky and ugly. The most she was willing to deal with were some athletic shoes with a print. So anyway, we went over to REI to look at stuff like rain jackets and whatnot and I wandered over to the footwear section to find something since my own boots were so worn that there was no tread left anywhere. The missus followed along, started browsing, and these immediately sparked her interest. A friendly REI rep came by, got her a pair in her size, and took her over to that testing "rock" platform to test them out - my wife fell in love with them instantly! She got so excited that we went to several state parks and trails just to try them out way before our trip. Having never worn these kinds of shoes before she loved the support and sense of confidence that they gave her. One other thing to note is that my wife has very small feet - she wears a size 5 - and it compounds the difficulty in trying to find ANY kind of shoe that fits her taste. IMO these boots look even better IRL than in the photos. Wholeheartedly give this boot a full 5 stars!

Return

Just returned these boots. The original card they were charged to was compromised so it got replaced and new card has a different number. I suggested to the person handling my return to credit the new card. She said, no, that’s ok the credit card company will take care of it. The credit has not hit my bill yet. Now I’m wasting time on the phone trying to track down my credit. The same day I did a return at another store and they ran the credit on the new card. It hit my account immediately. Feeling inconvenienced.
