Needed a pack for my 8 year old son, who, at the time was roughly about 65 lbs and 4' 5" at the time I purchased this. We settled on the Gregory and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The adjustments on this pack to essentially "grow" with him are more than enough and I see this pack lasting him well into his teenage years. We used it into North Fork trail of Big Pine in the eastern sierras. Writing this review now almost a year later and my son has grown and the pack is still well sized for him.
This pack is perfect for car or hammock camping. I have successfully packed for 6 days hiking and snorkeling in Belize and I didn't check a bag! I have used it for climbing excursions and can fit a rope, food, draws, and climbing gear. I am slightly under 5'3" and 115 pounds and it fits me well, but probably wouldn't fit anyone over 5'4".
Awesome pack for kids
We used this for the first time on a backpacking trip in Yellowstone...My 8 and 9 year old did great with it. Slightly too small for my daughter but give it another 6-12 months and itll fit her perfectly. My son is average sized for his age and it fit him really well. Plenty of adjustments left in the pack for growing. Seems like a durable, well-built pack
I purchased this backpack for my 9 year old daughter. Although she should have fit this given the measurements she is too small for this pack by just a little bit. It seems like an awesome pack though. Really well built with tons of pockets and features. I will definitely hang on to it for my son who will need one soon.
Full front zipper, so you don’t have to unpack everything to get to the middle or bottom. Bought for my 9yr old son to use. 3 campouts in, still getting use to where all of his buckles click. I would expect him to get use of it until he is 12-13.
It's hard to find a youth multi day pack that fits. I've tried many different packs for my kids and this one is by far the best.
My son loves this pack-it is a fully functional multi-day backpacking pack in a kids size with plenty of room to grow.
