After installing the pedals and testing them out, both seals came loose. I ordered these after reading reviews on other sites this is a very common issue, I had hoped that mine wouldn't be affected, but they were. Will be returning and buying the 8120s.
After going through 4 pairs of the M9100 Race model, I received this M9120 last week. So far 5 out of 5 pairs of these XTR pedals have the same issue: the black rubber seal on each pedal coming out after one ride. REI has been good with sending replacement pedals each time, but it is frustrating to have this issue with these pedals. XTR should be good quality.
Despite the new rib machined on the spindle that is evidently supposed to prevent the seals from backing out, both seals came out on the first ride and continued to pop out every ride. Love the feel and performance, so I will return them and get the slightly heavier XTs.
These are great pedals. I have this set of XTR pedals and a set of XT pedals. They are both great. They work nice for a trail bike or any bike you want or need a little more platform.
Light and super easy to clip out - love these pedals! Totally worth the price. I was leery of buying from reading other reviews, but glad I went ahead. Have been riding 6 months and they are great.
