Normally a leather man guy because of warranty and such. But have always wanted a slide open gerber. Was given a suspension from my cousins wedding. Great tool and the ease of blade access if awesome. Let someone use it and they melted to tips. Hopefully I can get it fixed. Either way a great on the hip tool

Very well made mutitool

I am very surprised at the quality of this product. For the price I did not expect such a great multitool. Be careful with the knifes blades, they ARE sharp. Every tool is functional and well made except the file (it sucks).

Good tool, cheap carrying case.

I would have given 5 stars is not for the case. The tool itself performs as advertised and appears well made. As is too often with things like this, the case is a cheap after thought. The loops that hold it to the belt broke after 2 days. The only reason I bought this one over others is a liked the dual design belt loops to wear the tool horizontally. Poor stitching and it broke easily. If you can’t attach to your belt, a carabiner connection would have been nice.

Horrible

Plier jaw snapped off grasping aluminum pipe. No striking, no twisting just grabbing. Piece of junk

buy something else

Received as a promotional gift. Glad I did not pay for it. 3 flat head screwdrivers is ridiculous, any of the 2 are plenty. The file is a joke. Not even hard or coarse enough to file down a fingernail. The tool locks are a good idea but hardly intuitive to operate and not very easy to operate to boot. The taper/shape of the handles are too big and uncomfortable to apply much force to the pliers. The smaller tools are difficult to access despite having a topside nail nick to try and get them to deploy. Save your money on this one. Buy a Leatherman instead.

WAY to difficult to try to use !

OK ... so I am an older lady but WOW this is way to hard to operate. The packaging alone was ridiculous to even open ! Very awkward / May be ok for stronger men/ women but not for me !

Great Multitool

I had another version of this multi tool which I had for years, I even liked it better than my Swiss Army knife. Unfortunately I lost it, and so I looked for the same tool and came across this version. I honestly like it even better, and it has a couple more tools than my last one. It has not failed me yet and I suspect it never will. Amazing product, especially for the price. Highly recommend this tool and other Gerber products as well, they don’t cut corners.

Like locking mechanism.

I bought Gerber 17 tool Multi tool. After I opened it I found the labeling a little deceiving. First on the list of tools it’ says spring loaded needle nose players. Then it says standard players. This must be the same tool because there ain’t no other plier. Third on the list is a saw. That’s good. Fourth full edge blade. Must be the knife. That’s good then serrated blade. Also good. Cross driver. Must mean the Philips screwdriver. Wire cutters is part of the pliers. The bottle opener and can opener. All one tool. Scissors ok. Don’t know what an AWL is. But that is considered one tool. The small medium and large flat head screw drivers is good the label reads 17 tools. It should say whatever the number of tools with some multifunction. All together it looks like a good tool in fact this is the third Gerber I’ve bought one going to my son.

Piece of junk. Poorly manufactured. You could not open the tools on one side of the tools because of the atrocious tolerances. ALL of the tools on one side stuck when trying to pry them out of the handle. I severely cut my finger while trying to wrestle the knife blade out. DO NOT BUY! I bought this tool to replace a Gerber multitool that I lost. The quality of Gerber products today is orders of magnitude worse than in the past. SAD!

Badass tool for badasses

I personally own three of these. One for my bunker gear, one for my station pants, and one for my EDC. It is as solid as they come and just perfect for most tasks, even ones it should not be doing (firefighters have a way of doing that to tools) I have gotten plenty of other people in my department on this bandwagon, and I now exclusively purchase Gerber knives and miltitools. They're just that damn good.
