[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use a backpack all the time, and it was very important for me to find one that is comfortable and easy to carry. I walk to and from work everyday, carrying my work laptop and supplies. I have degenerative joint disease so I was looking for one that would help balance the weight and give me the ability to share the weight across my chest and hips. I also go on weekend hikes with my dogs, and must carry water and supplies. So again. I needed something that was sturdy, and comfortable. This backpack is like a dream. It came with the backpack, and a carry it out trash bag, which I love, and a "rain jacket" for the backpack, to keep all your items dry if you get caught in a storm, which I often do. I love the frame, and the padded shoulder and hip straps. The padding on the back is also perfect.
I have had this backpack for a few months now and I absolutely love it!! It is sleek and small, yet full of strategically placed pockets to keep your things organized when you hit the trail. I love the inner and outer zipper pockets at the top- they thought of everything while designing this pack. My favorite feature of all is the main compartment zip that opens up the backpack like a mini duffel. It makes it so much easier to find your things that are at the bottom of the pack and stay organized. There is also room for water bottles on each side, one pocket zips up while the other is an open slip pocket. The lightweight versatility of this pack cannot be beat. Thanks Deuter!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is not your typical hiking backpack... OH NO! This is everything you need in one. Extremely perfect in every single way. I'm used to see non-aesthetic hiking backpacks and this is the only exception. It is not just a pretty good looking backpack but it really has everything you need. It is super light, it has a hydration system compartment, it has a waist strap and all kinds of attachments for poles or extra tools. My favorite feature is the rain cover. Something that I must mention is that this backpack doesn't look to bulky on petite women, it is the perfect size for any body complexion.
I bought this originally because it was heavily discounted, and I needed to replace my decades-old day pack. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but this turned out to be the greatest day pack (and backpack of any kind) that I've ever bought. The side zippers are so convenient, and though it sounds like I'm full of it, the padding on the back genuinely feels like I massage at times. Just ridiculously comfortable, more comfortable than my Osprey. It's got every kind of pocket you could want, a clip for your keys, options to secure hiking poles if you use them. I've started recommending this backpack to pretty much everyone I know. It's so good it's turned me into an annoying person.
This pack is the perfect size to fit all of your climbing gear to take to the gym, on the approach to the crag or even on multi-pitch. In the picture, that is a 70m 9.5mm rope. There are two tie downs on each side of the brain of the pack that are long enough to secure the rope on both sides. The BEST part about this pack is that it unzips in the middle!!! You don’t have to stuff everything in through the top and then dig around to find things. I fit my helmet, 16 quick draws, 4 alpine draws, more than several locking carabiners, my harness, chalk bag, two belay devices, a personal anchor, extra small rope, nalgene and gloves. I’m sure I’m missing something. When going to the gym I can even fit all of that in my pack along with my 40m 9.8mm rope. The hip belt is great because that is a lot of weight to carry.
I wanted a decent backpack for day hikes and was thinking of something much smaller. The Girl at REI showed me the features of this pack and told me it would be just right... and it is perfect... seemed a little big, but as it turns out, it's not. It has even become my go-to carry-on bag when flying. My laptop fits in the hydration pocket, and everything else in the main pocket. anything I will need on the plane I put in the top compartment, and I'm good to go. As far as hiking goes, I spent a lot of time hiking in Alaska this summer and this baby carried my extra layers and snacks and water and fit perfectly and comfortably.
I use this backpack as my primary day pack for long day hikes. For reference I’m 5’10” tall with a long torso, I’m also plus size and wear size 24 jeans. The length of this backpack on me makes it perfect to buckle around my waist (at full strap length), and since it doesn’t get that heavy, it is comfortable for me. I’m able to fit anything I’d need or want on a hike: 10 Essentials, the day’s food, 2 liter water pouch, extra clothes, etc. I love that it’s both top loading and has a u-zipper. Although I haven’t traveled with it yet, the u-zip will be great for traveling. Also FYI Deuter is a wonderful company to deal with, if you’re plus size and need extra length on the waist strap they’ll send you an extension strap with proper buckles free of charge (got this for another bag).
I chose this backpack for longer day hikes. I really loved the low profile, hidden compression straps and simplicity. The hidden rainfly in the bottom and inside/outside pockets in the lid are both great features. Unfortunately, the hip belt is really flimsy, and the adjusters on the shoulder straps rubbed my inner arms precisely at the most annoying spot. And I have small arms. I was aggravated and looking for a long sleeved shirt to protect my arms after a short "hike" around my home. Perhaps on a longer-torso it would fit better? IMO the hip belt is not strong enough to support a packed weight. Returned.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product 2 weeks ago to test & try out. It's huge, comfortable, can fit a lot of items, adjustable, doesn't hurt shoulders or back either. Even with the backpack filled up with a lot of stuff the bag still feels light & comfy. This would be great for long backpacking trips or long hikes & you would never be tired.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used my Aircontact Trail 28 SL for a while now and have had the best experience with it! This past weekend my husband and I went on a hike through the mountains and it was the perfect size for me! Not too big or bulky and fit just perfectly! I love all of the compartments and areas to keep all of my supplies. The flower is a great touch making it look much more feminine while I'm hiking! The shoulder straps are extremely comfortable as well! Overall I am extremely satisfied with my Deuter Aircontact and I recommend this to all women who love to hike and spend alot of time outdoors!
