The Ultimate Touring Binding

If you are looking for the ultimate touring binding, look no more. I have been skiing this binding extensively since it has come on the market, I have not come close to breaking anything on this binding. I can not say the same for other competitors bindings. I really enjoy the simplicity, reliability and how lightweight it is but it still performs outstanding in all conditions. It can be used with or without the brakes. I find that the brake really improves the performance of the binding so more often than not I choose to have the break. This binding pairs perfectly with a Shift binding for a two quiver setup that will do it all.

Light and bomber

I have these mounted on 2 pairs of skis, an all around powder ski and a light ski mountaineering ski. I have put 50-60 days on these bindings and am very impressed. They are light weight and simple while still being majority metal build and bomber construction. I especially like the fact that you don't always have to rotate the heal to go to walk mode. I mounted them without the brake so unfortunately can't speak to that. Otherwise, these bindings perform as well or better than any other tech binding I have skied.

Ice build up in brake holddown lever

Since day 1 of using these bindings, the brakes have fallen down while skinning due to poor design. Ice gets stuck under the lever that holds the brake up. I have tried using screwdrivers but it is so narrow you can't really get in there to break the ice up. I find it hard to believe that no one mentioned this while testing and designing these bindings. Its super frustrating and I definitely miss my Dynafits. Downhill they seem to perform great, but not sure it makes up for how annoying skinning can be... I don't think it was worth the money for these bindings.

My Favorite Light Binding

I used these bindings to climb up the western CWM of Everest and they are awesome uphill light pin bindings. I also skied the Lhotse couloir in them and they perform really well on the down. The medium and high lifters are awesome, the wide hole pattern transfers to the ski well and I particularly like having the break for the boot sole to rest on instead of just skiing on two pins for weight transfer. I've used them extensively for a couple years and they are my favorites I've found. #notsponsored just honest

Great design.

Bought these last year and mounted on Blizzard ZeroG 105. Love the strength to weight ratio. I can hammer hard with total confidence. The "no twist" elevator options are perfect for the steeper, mostly front-side, skinning around here. You only have to twist the heel to be in "flat" tour mode. Ski brake design is solid although you have to be sure to clear of snow/ice when engaging. As a bonus the design allows you to tuck the brakes out of the way when tuning without need for rubber bands.

Light/ Strong Skiing but needs improvements

Snow and ice build up under the toe spring will render the binding useless and will compromise the lock tension/ security of the binding when touring exposed traverses etc. Your ski could come off if you are unaware of the necessity of keeping the spring clear of ice. It may not appear it is compromising performance but even the slightest amount could lead to critical binding failure while touring or skiing!! Also, the brake housing is plastic right at the junction where the brake retracts into tour mode. The brake retraction is a beautiful design, but the brake will fail at the plastic junction if you experience any ice build up -- always happens at the worst time in the most remote settings!? Locking the heel into ski mode takes hard stomping. Try this at altitude in heavy powder?? I've used more energy entering this binding than I have on an entire descent.

Best in the biz

I own a leashed and a brake version and I’ve logged nearly 60,000ft of skinning/skiing with them this season. Best tech binding available anywhere for all around touring and high performance skiing. Thank you Salomon/Atomic!
