Great tool!
Taking this spoon and something to boil water in makes my dreams of not washing dishes while hiking come true. It fits perfectly into the premade packs of freeze dried meals, stirs the ever important morning coffee and the end opens and closes the locks on my bear barrel. I like it so much I have one and have given others as gifts.

Great shape but had to deburr the metal
I'd love to give this a glowing review - great shape, length and surface finish - but I had to deburr all the edges on the handle myself; it's stamped metal and a couple spots were sharp enough to cut if you slid your hand quickly. A big fail on basic quality control.

This thing is amazing. Deserves SIX stars.

I use this spoon for many things besides eating oatmeal. It functions as a skillet companion, scraping the bottom and mixing everything as it cooks, flipping eggs, stirring bacon (while keeping my hands further away from the popping grease!). The handle end of this spoon makes a decent screwdriver. It can mix all the seeds from the bottom of my HUEL mix bags and my hands don't get dusty. It cleans really easily even after using it to move the embers around the campfire. It hasn't scratched other cookware yet, maybe due to be polished so smoothly. There is a LOT of utility in this thing! I am going to buy a few more while they are available.

Light an functional

Great long spoon for meal preparation. It is 8.5” total length. Good length for dehydrated meal pouch. I also use it for deep jam jar at home. End of spoon is slightly flat, making it very functional to scrap bottom of pan when cooking.

Just the ticket

Although I have been backpacking for 50 years, I only recently started using freeze-dried meals in a bag instead of my own concoctions. I can’t say I’ve taken a step forward, but I have simplified hot meal prep and clean up. I am very glad someone recommended the Toaks long-handled spoon. It’s light, cleans up easily, and does the job of stirring in my Jetboil and in my food pouches just great. No burned or messy fingers! I even use it at home for stirring and, occasionally, eating.

Practical for camping and travel

First used king handle spoons for freeze dried Mountainhouse meals and MRE’s in the military. Super practical to reach into food pouches without getting you hands covered in food. Risks bent and polished bowl makes this far and away the best spoon in market. Cool nylon pouch. Polished bowl of spoon may seem insignificant but makes it easy to clean. One of the details that counts. Also, choose this in titanium over less expensive spoons made of anodized aluminum. If you have a sibling, son or daughter, or friend in military and you are looking for a gift idea you just found the perfect $10 present. This spoon and Aeropress coffee makes are my “go to” gifts for deploying troops.

I love my spoon!

I bought this early 2020 and used it on about 500 miles of backpacking this year. It is rugged and able to be sanitized in a dishwasher. The polished bowl is great and I've never missed not having a spork as pretty much everyting I eat in the backcountry is mushy. It's long, which helps reaching into deep meal bags. This is a must bring item on every trip.

THE backpacking spoon.

OMG. This deserves 6 out of 5 stars. How were we surviving with a short spork before? The long handle makes ALL the difference when you are backpacking and you don't want to get your hands messy trying to dig to the bottom of a dehydrated meal packet because then you have to clean your hands by finding water... This is a no-brainer. Also much easier to scoop food and scrape out the bottom of the food bag with a smooth spoon rather than a spork that risks puncturing the bottom. You don't need fork tines anyway if you're eating dehydrated meals. This fits diagonally in the small BearVault BV450, and two of them stack beautifully and almost disappear into each other.

Perfect!

TOAKS is well known for their quality titanium cookware and these long handle spoons do not disappoint! The length is perfect for eating directly out of a “Mountain House” food pack without getting your knuckles messy and it’s manageable when using out of your mug as well. Really love the sturdy construction and the titanium is a huge plus for me because I don’t like cooking or eating with aluminum products. Would definitely recommend if your considering a hiking spoon!

Goes to work with me daily

I like it! I purchased this spoon as a part of my daily lunch kit. Since covid-19, I have been bringing some form of hot lunch to work in a wide-mouth thermos. This spoon easily gets down into the container, unlike a standard size spoon. This spoon is light, fits well in the hand and is feather light, but feels solid. The polished bowl of the spoon is nicely done. I have no doubt that that the length of this spoon would be greatly appreciated when eating out of a freeze- dried meal pouch. Definitely recommend.

Impromptu Shovel

This spoon is great. On my last hike it rained so hard my flourless shelter became a quagmire of hopeless misery and failure. After a flurry of curses to an un-answering god I remembered my spoon. I used it to dig a trench around my shelter and then several away from it to divert more water, which at this point and turned to hail. The spoon held up, didn’t bend and worked great.
