Horrible Design
I bought this bottle because it was on clearance and you can never have too many water bottles. The design of the cap and lid is horrible. It takes way too much force to snap the cap into place and is completely unnecessary. The strap that holds the lid in place is way too tight making it difficult to unscrew the lid. As for the size of the bottle, its a liter/32 ounces which is perfect for me, but the base of the bottle is too big. It barely fits in one of my cup holders and not at all in my other. I have had zero issues with leaking and the bottle does look great. If this bottle is on sale, buy it as a backup, but I don't think it's a great primary bottle.
Best Bottle Ever!!
I bought 2 1L bottles Chute style. I LOVE LOVE these bottles I’m surprised by the negative reviews. The first day was a crash course in water bottle 101. After that, it’s been smooth sailing ever since and, I’ve even dropped it a few times. That’s how I rate a water bottle. I’m purchasing 3 more in a minute, but just wanted to let you know that if you’re interested in getting one, I strongly recommend it. If you take the extra 3 seconds to line up the threads you will not have any leaks. Also, I’ve found it easier to undo the mouth cap and the lid goes on so much smoother and highly unlikely you’ll have a leak. Anyway, saw too many nit pickers with either little patience or too much time and are likely discouraging others from a purchase.
Great bottle, but it leaks terribly
I've purchased this bottle for a big South America trip. Overall it's a great looking bottle. It's easy to hold and carry, especially with the handle. But the only flaw is that it leaks almost all the time. At first I thought I wasn't closing it properly. And so I resorted to closing the lid tightly, and even checked it numerous times it wasn't leaking. But after a while in my backpack it starts leaking and I don't know why. The faulty lid ensured that all my stuff in my backpack got wet, including my beloved camera that now doesn't work.
I love these bottles!
These 1 liter bottles are my favorite because there is no mouth piece to clean, or get moldy, they are thick rubber plastic and even the cap survived my Staffordshire Bull Terriers teeth, she barely was able to put a few dents in it! I now own two of these bottles for various things, but mostly hiking, I love that they fit in the pockets of the Camelbak Fourteener, they stay cold fairly well even in our hot Arizona heat, and they are easy to clean, open, and close. This is my favorite water bottle by far that I have ever owned!
Great Bottle - Few Drawbacks
We have five Camelbak bottles, three Eddy's and two Chutes. My wife and my middle daughter love the Chutes while I and my other two daughters love the Eddy's. Cons: We have had the Chutes for the last 6 months with the only real drawback is that the two largest ones does not fit into any cup holders in our Jeep. My wife as the 48 oz. / 1500 ml and my daughter has the 32 oz. / 1000 ml. We have yet to find a cup expander that will fit the largest yet. The smaller one does fit in the angled door holders, barely. The cap holder - daughter loves it but wife is less thrilled. Pros: You do not have to replace the bite tip on the bottle every six months. Easy to clean. We have never had a problem with either bottle leaking as I have read from others. Very large capacity.
LOVE this for hiking!
I’m so surprised by the indifferent reviews because I love this water bottle! This is my second bottle (different brand) with this type of spout and it’s so great for those of us who want something straw like without the hassle of cleaning one. It doesn’t leak and the cap is easy to screw on and off, so confused by the other reviews? The only difficult feature is snapping the cap on to the lid to keep it out of the way while you’re drinking, but I’m sure that’ll get easier over time too!
Leaks constantly!
I've purchased four of these bottles. The first was perfect. But I lost it. My bad. The next three (I really loved this bottle) all leaked no matter how tight the cap was. Very disheartening. The cap stow area isn't the easiest to work with. Does it work> Absolutely. Is it more difficult to do than it should be. You better believe it. Speaking on durability it is designed and executed very well. It's a TANK among water bottles.
Love It!!
Hubby bought this for me because a wanted a liter sized bottle. Yes, I had a little difficulty putting the cap in its 'in use' state. But with a little practice, I got it. I have not experienced any leaks. I drink 4+ a day and add my ice, lemon cubes, or strawberries with no problem. Maybe the only thing is the condensation, as there is no insulation. But all in all, I'm extremely happy! Thank you! Happy Wife, Happy Life! :D
Great way to get hydrated
For a litre, the bottle isn't too large so can fit easily in any bag. The handle is very tough yet smooth so ergonomically nice to hold. The spout is comfortable and wide enough to flow water quickly and the lid fitting into it makes drinking easy. I've been using it every day for almost a year, I've dropped it on concrete, washed it many times in the dishwasher and taken it wherever I go and it's still in great condition.
Great product, good purchase
I bought this Chute a couple weeks ago and it's perfect! The stowing of lid to me a while to figure out, but now that I know to just push it in (using a little more force than I originally thought) the lid stows perfectly; it just took a little practice! The bottle fits great in my backpack and is the perfect size for a full day on campus. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a new water bottle.
