Superb piece of American Craftsmanship
This knife is really nice. Because it's a fixed blade (I have mostly folders) you can see the full tang inside the handle. The Dynawood is well done (for artificial wood that won't crack or rot) and this thing really cuts well. Great gimping on the blade and tang, and it just seems to be the perfect size for a fixed blade hiking knife. And the sheath is also nice, and it is genuine leather. For a small knife, this offers big utility.
Awesome UL Backpacking knife!
EXACTLY what i was looking for in a small light knife! great feel, very controllable for small around camp tasks and small enough to fit just about anywhere. Very sharp out of the box. I am an avid Hammock camper and always use my knives for cutting ONLY! This is the perfect size and shape for UL trips! People who want to tear up their blades batoning and what not can go right ahead. I carry a Schrade Froe with me (if I'm in a group) for wood processing and larger projects so my knives stay sharp. This little blade is great for whittling, making fatwood shavings and the 90 dgree spine throws sparks from a ferro rod just fine!
Perfect size
The blade and handle are an ideal size. The sheath is a great design. Able to hang it from the belt or strap it to a pack where it is still handy yet out of the way. Used it this fall to quarter an elk and field dress a deer. This will be my go to knife from now on.
My favorite model Benchmade makes...
This is a great knife for backpackers or anyone who wants to limit overall weight without compromising on versatility. I've used it for everything from slicing cheese and salami in camp to field dressing whitetail deer in the backcountry.
