Good conditioner and waterproofing

I’ve used this several times. Works well and does provide effective water resistance for hiking boots. Tip: use only two applications. Leather will get sticky with more than two. Hike on.

Wet feet

I've used SNO-SEAL for years on our boots with good success. REI only had Granger's so we tried it. We are tired of drying out or scoks and are going back to SNO-SEAL which ACE hardware sales

There is a learning curve with this wax

The Granger’s Waterproofing Wax works - eventually. The container has zero directions. The video I searched out on the Granger site states to just apply a thin layer, let dry and that’s it. Nope. The drying time on this product is much longer than traditional shoe polish or leather conditioner. And it dries to a VERY tacky consistency. Like all my Labrador’s shedded fur was sticking to my shoes. I tried rubbing off the dried wax after 15 minutes and there was no change to the extreme tackiness. I almost gave up. The secret is to give it a couple hours to fully dry or cure. Then use a clean, dry, coarse-weave microfiber towel and rub the shoes or boots firmly but not too hard. Take your time. The layer of tackiness will come off but the water shedding properties remain. Another round of application, drying, and removal might be in order - wasn’t necessary for me. Three pairs of boots/shoes feel soft and smooth and look great. And she’d water! So, in summary, the product performs properly as a waterproofer but 2 stars off for terrible missing and/or poor directions from the manufacturer.

good and tough

im a concrete carpenter in the pacific NW and this has become my go to for waterproofing my boots in the rainy season. my footwear takes a real beating on the daily, so I have to treat them about once a month, but when applied correctly in a thin layer, dry and buff, it holds up better than any other product I've tried. Often enough, the only thing that is dry at the end of a work day are my feet. Awesome product.
