Horrible Quality, I expected so much more out of Colombia!
The jacket is falling apart and I haven’t even worn it yet. Horrible quality!
Great so far, just off on the color
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. The delivery was super fast, like 2 days instead of 5-7 :) I was really hoping it was going to be more orange like the picture depicted, but mine ended up being this weird mustard yellow color instead (almost like it wasn't even the same color -- but there are no other color choices; would have been safer to go with the blue, but I love orange). Maybe it's just filters and post processing. Sometimes my camera picks it up more vibrant than it is by eye. Picture included when my camera was being more true-to-actual-color.
The hood is absolutely TERRIBLE
Let me start off by saying the fit is good, and it is warm. That's as far as I am going. The hood is an absolute deal breaker for me. It comes so far over your face that you can barely see outward. I felt like Emperor Palpatine, but way worse. I suppose this is good if you are wearing it outside and are worried about rain. However, for purposes of using the hood to keep warm (and see outward) it is an absolute failure. This wasn't a great thing to find out after it took 16-days to get here. Why can't you all show a full picture on your site of someone fully wearing the hood? You chopped their head off. It will be returned.
This jacket is warm!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok so I’m always in the mountains. I was looking for something to use while I’m alpine climbing or while I’m just on a winter hike or backcountry trip. So far I have used it in 10 degree F weather and it hasn’t had problems. The other day I used it to go snowboarding, under my bib and it got too hot! That has been the problem mostly haha if you go indoors you start to warm up quick. I love the design features it has. The only con I would say is that it’s a little fluffy. So if you’re looking for a slim one then go for a different one. But I love how this looks to be in the mountains or to just go out and eat with my wife!
Great jacket, warm and handsome
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is surprisingly warm for how thin it is. It has an amazing reflective lining that really insulates your body's heat well. I wore this jacket with a light long sleeved shirt underneath in sub-freezing weather and was plenty warm. Has two zippered pockets on each side that are really roomy. Also, it has an awesome hood that doesn't slide on your head and is pretty form fitting, which helps prevent the wind from blowing it off your head. The fit is pretty active as the product description says. If you do have a shorter torso, the midsection does tend to bulge/wrinkle a bit. I'm 5'10 and about 150lbs (slim athletic build) and a small fits me perfectly.
Snug, warm, and lightweight
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks great, feels great. I usually wear a size small w Columbia and that's the size I bought...still a bit of room to have on an undershirt and one or two long sleeve layers. Description states it is waterproof, but I havent tested that claim in real world conditions. It's not too puffy and a rain jacket/poncho can be worn over it without looking crazy. The hood folds back flat when not in use, a feature I really like. The bungee cords help to keep warm air in and cold drafts out. Overall very happy with the purchase, only gave four stars bc I'm not sure about the waterproof claim (especially after continuous use in snow/sleet/etc.), however it is definitely water resistant.
Trust the technology
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Chicago IL and winters are cold. Like very cold. When I received the jacket and saw how thin it was, I had my doubts (the jacket is thin and comparatively very cheap). So I kept the tags on and took it for a spin. It does the job. Surprisingly, I am not cold. I looked again at the price and was like: 'it might be because people don't trust the technology, but it works'. Note: I am not originally from Chicago so I am not used to very cold winter. I also bike for transportation. I put 'only' 4 stars because i would have preferred a fitter cut, especially around the waist, but that's just me.
Warm Without Bulk
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket really holds the heat in without being bulky. The fit is comfortable, with plenty of room for base layers. The colors are awesome (rusty, canyon gold). All around great and versatile jacket for use year-round.
Solid Contender for a "Mid-Weight" Jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for something to fit between my light weight hoodie/jacket, and my heavy winter coat, and this seems to fit in perfectly. Size seems to be true to the size chart. Jacket has kept me warm in moderately cold (down to ~30º F) just fine, and I've not had a chance (yet) to try it on colder weather. Fit is great, with no noticeable restrictions. Finish/construction looks OK, but I did have to cut off several loose threads. My only minor gripe is that the hood presses against the back of my head when I sit down in a tall seat, such as in my car. I have to push the hood down, but it's back against my neck in a matter of minutes. I'm hoping this is temporary, and will go away after the jacket has more use.
Between sizes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am 6'1 / 190lbs. I had originally ordered a Large, and it was just a little baggy. If you're bigger, but same height, large is the size for you. I returned the large for a medium, and it fits with an athletic cut. Movement is not restricted, but layering underneath would be limited. The coat is very warm, so the layers would be redundant anyway. Luckily, even in the medium, the length is still good for my height, reaching to the top of my butt. I ordered the darker blue color, which is a mat-blue, compared to the shiney color. I like the mat better.
