My New Favorite
These pants have served me well and are extremely versatile in the outdoors and on the street. I love the tapered fit as they allow me to move fast in the mountains and the stretch panels allow extra movement and ventilation. Love these pants, they are my new favorite. Nice enough to wear for a night out on the town but tough enough to handle the mountains. I've had these mountain biking, climbing, and on some extreme hikes in Alaska, and they did not disappoint. The fabric has held up amazingly well for the abuse I've put them through.

Nice, but for me don't compare to Radikl.
Kuhl Radikl pants have been my go-to, all-purpose pants for over 5 years. I wear them almost all the time. When REI didn't stock my size, I thought I'd try the Free Radikl. They arrived yesterday. They look very sharp, very classy, the waist is different, the button on the front is different, the cut in the legs is narrower. I thought about keeping them, but I realized that, because the fit in the legs is so tight, I wouldn't wear them for at least half of the time. Too tight for air travel , too tight for hikes, etc. Taking them off and putting on my familiar Radikls felt so good! Don't get me wrong, this will be an awesome pair of pants for lots of people, just not me.

Pants fade within a months!!

Update: Went to REI to return this item since it is clearly defective. The uneven discoloration / fading in the thigh and knee areas is clearly visible (see photos). And I have had these pants for only about 3 or 4 months max. Unfortunately the REI rep was very dismissive and said this is normal wear and tear and is bound to happen if I expose the garment to sun. If I am so bothered about color, I should not be wearing it out in the open. This coming from a company claiming to be the outdoor experts and selling these premium priced items with the guarantee that they will take it back anytime within a year!! She essentially told me to pound sand. Very very disappointed with REI. What use is the membership? Not sure anyone from REI even monitors these comments or cares about how their stores are treating customers. ----- Love the fit, but the color is a lot lighter than portrayed in the web site, and more importantly - the color on my pants faded within a few months of usage. And I am not even putting them through a tough test. Just weekend day hikes in the sf bay area. The thigh and knee area on both legs have faded. Very disappointing to see such shoddy quality from a premium brand. I have been wearing Kuhl hiking pants for several years and this is the first time I am seeing this. Expected better from Kuhl!

Great pockets, comfortable

I bought these pants for the pockets and the material. I own the women's Freeflex pants and the pockets are not big enough for my phone, and the material is not rugged enough for sliding down rocks. I have been jealous of my husband's Kuhl pants so I decided to try a pair of the men's pants to see how they worked on a woman's body. I'm not crazy about the high waist, but it's semi-elastic and comfortable enough. They do look a little masculine on me, but the tapered fit helps. Even though the women's pants fit me better, I prefer the material and the pockets of the men's pants. The phone pocket alone is enough for me to buy these pants.

Wishing for more than delivered

After decades of wearing Kuhl pants I finally decided they’re not working for me. I’ve weathered the silly snap closure they used to employ that popped open when you bent over and weathered pants that had a shorter inseam than they state. This time no. The snap has been changed to a button thankfully but the length was going to be a problem. I also anticipated there would be a good stretch to the fabric. That was not the case. The fit was okay in the waist but really snug in the crotch. I returned them for another brand. I always bought Kuhl because of the cell phone pocket. I wish other brands put cell phone pockets in their products.

My #1 Go-To Pants for Work or Play

The Radikl and Free Radikl have been my primary pants for daily use for several years. I like both versions almost equally. I really like these because of their versatility. They are nice enough to be used for dressing it up with a collared shirt, but hearty enough to handle typical outdoor and work activities (mowing, hiking, chopping wood, etc). The thin material and stretch panels make movement comfortable in every direction. Fit is true to size, and the taper seems very natural. For sizing comparison I am 5’9” at 155lb, wearing a 32/32. If you need an all around, good looking, functional pair of pants, these are worth every penny.

Not as comfortable as the previous version

I've been wearing the Kuhl Radikl pants ever since they came out, they're my favorite. I picked up a pair of the "Free Radikl" pants and they are not nearly as comfortable. It doesn't look like REI sells the "Klassik Radikl" pants. It's a shame I can't get them at REI anymore.

Not as comfy as Radikl

For about 6 years, Kuhl Radikls have been my go-to pants. I wear them almost all the time. When I couldn't buy my size at REI, I thought I'd try the Free Radikl. They are a great pant, very sharp looking, very classy. They are not for me. Too tight in the legs. I am returning them. There are too many activities for which they would be too tight. Taking them off and putting on my Radikls feels so good. But don't get me wrong--this will be a great pair of pants for a lot of people.

good not great

Nice pants, but they are NOT stain resistant whatsoever. You get a single drop of ANYTHING on them, and it soaks in immediately and is very difficult to remove. Pasta sauce, toothpaste, oil-based stuff, coffee, etc etc. I have the same grievance with all Kuhl pants. Love the way they look, feel and fit, but I'm constantly fighting with semi-permanent stains. SO ANNOYING!
