My FAVORITE piece of camping equipment
I do a lot of kayak camping so while being slightly aware of weight and bulk it's not that big of an issue. This cot can be set up in any location without worries of that missed rock or stick under your tent. You will sleep excellent. If you want to really go luxurious then add a thermarest and that will not only make it super comfortable but it will also insulate you in cold weather. In hot weather camping I use a twin fitted and reg sheet. I love this cot !
Love this cot!!!
I have the original Cot Max and it is my most favorite piece of camping equipment hands down. I consistently get the best sleep in the outdoors using it. The only thing that would make it better would be to release an attachable mesh tent with a fly for a complete system! Please make this happen!!!
Wait for version #2
Great product, but needs refinement. Very comfortable and light. Need large amount of grip strength for disassembly
Extremely Comfortable
Cons: Price (But you won't find a more comfortable cot.) Pros: It sets up easily, The top stretches taught and stays that way, The separately available legs bring it up to a comfortable height for sitting and getting in and out of (about 16"). Without them it is about 6" high. It easily fits back in the carrying bag. (The 16 legs will fit in the bag also, albeit tightly.) Perfect for larger folks at 29.5" by 80" (my 30" by 80" inflatable pad on top makes sleeping as comfortable as my sleep number bed) I let a friend who is 6'-4" use it and he didn't want to give it back. I'm spent 69 years on earth and the Cot Max allows me to continue enjoying the outdoors. It's not for backpacking (to heavy and bulky) but car camping, boat camping, or having a spare bed for friends or relatives at home or cabin it's perfect. I take it to fishing resorts because I believe its more comfortable than their beds. Helinox developed the most unique and easy set up. The parts of the four legs/spreaders are held together by bungie cord and slip together into the plastic holders with ease. The clamping system that stretches the top is an engineering marvel in its simplicity and ease. (Compared to the old army cots, it is a joy to behold). The legs that raise it to 16" slip into place with a slight snap. Just enough to keep them there if you want to move the cot around. They have plastic feet to prevent scratching. Plus, removal is easy done with a slight tug. I have set mine up many times and it takes about 5 minutes. The same for disassembly. Another great product from Helinox. PS: I have 4 Sunset Chairs, 1 Chair Two Rocker, 3 regular size High Cots, 1 Cot Max, & 1 Cot Max Convertible. Yes I'm a Helinox fan.
