After finding the correct size (which took three returns!), I have a mixed review of this shoe. Things I like: the stiff shank is excellent for a comfortable petal stroke. The insoles are surprisingly good quality. The Vibram tread is great for when you have to push or carry the bike over rough sections; I especially like the rubber cap over the cleats which gives full traction. The shoes are very comfortable to ride and walk in. They have a wide toe box which is hard to find in cycling shoes. I like the Anatomic Buckle Closure system which really does take the pressure off the instep (perfect for people with high insteps). However, that Buckle is FRAGILE. I put my foot down and grazed a rock, and the entire buckle separated from the shoe. Not sure if I can fix it. The other minor drawback, and it’s not a deal breaker, is that the shoes are not very breathable. So if you don’t need a rugged shoe and don’t mind limited breathability, these shoes are great.
I bought these shoes online without trying them on. I was pleased that they fit my hard-to-fit feet due to a bunion on the right foot. I don't notice any pain while riding. However, I have had some bunion pain the day following a ride so will experiment with adjusting the position of the clip-in or possibly trying the fabric-based pair 'Giro Empire Knit Cycling Shoes'. If you don't have the added hassle of a bunion, but do have wide feet these would be a great shoe!
nice looking shoe but the sizing runs a bit small- and the toe box is a bit small. I always wear an EU 42 but in this shoe it's too small.
