Constant power drops
I returned my first pair of these, which broke right away (battery door threads stripped). The second pair, like the first, has constant connection issues. It will connect and work for a while but then every so often during a ride it drops its connection, gives a false high power reading or a zero reading (drop). The first set did the same. I have tried replacing batteries and have tried a new bike computer (head unit). I was using a Garmin edge 820 computer and also a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt--both have problems. It makes it impossible to do a structured workout.
Power dropouts
I just bought this pedal and had 4 rides total. Constant power dropouts and already contacted Garmin. Same issues like others reviewed on other websites. Save yourself sometime and get something that will give you accurate and constatant data. It’s just an another worthless fancy extremely expensive gadget.
Gamin vector 3S
I have been using the single pedal vector for about 5 months. Easy to install. Easy to link to your various computers (iPhone, Wahoo elemnt bolt). Consistent and accurate. Never had any power measurement dropout problem like those I read about. I used baby oil while replacing the battery once so far as Garmin recommends. I use trainingpeaks and golden cheetah, and the power meter is an essential part of my training. I swap it between my two road bikes often. I am even planning on installing it on my fat bike which I ride on packed snow in the winter. I got a cleat adapter which allows its use on other than road bikes, especially since I will riding while wearing my winter mountaineering Solomon boots. In short I think it Is a great buy. Cheaper than many others, reliable, and practical. Also, it is the only power meter option carried by REI (think dividends, return policy, and overall REI loyalty to your favorite store!)
Garmin Vector 3S work great
I use these pedals outdoors with my Garmin Edge GPS and indoors with Apple TV/Zwift. Very easy to install and connect. Garmin have updated the firmware a couple times.
