I have been a fan of jet boil stove for years and the speed of heating up water is great (2 min or less). The only problem is they are cheap on the plastic cup and it has broken or cracked on me. Why jet boil can't spend another nickel in putting a metal cup or a harder measuring cup in place is beyond me. At $100 plus for the product, they could make it a GREAT product, instead of being cheap on the cup.

Jetboil has one flaw they wont address

Jetboil does not offer replacement igniters for any of their units.
I have a 7 year old titanium jetboil. The igniter failed years ago. I'm not going to invest in a new unit that will only fail in a year.
When they make a serviceable unit I will upgrade.

I was hesitant to purchase this item because of the price. Im SO happy I did. The efficiency at which this system boils water is unparalleled, IMO. The stove lights with its built in ignition every time! I thought the boil indicator sticker was gimmicky…I was WRONG! This boils so fast Im grateful for the gauge. I purchased the pot support to add versatility and love this even more. I have not used in cold temps yet (lowest was 48f) as it is summer, but I have used it at elevation of 9k ft with wind gusts. No problems, no complaints.

This is my THIRD JetBoil. All three have had the piezo igniter fail, but this on actually caught fire. Flames coming from under the stove and melting the plastic, rather than out the top. The top is clean and free of debris. The canister was screwed on securely.

never leave home with out my jet boil. perfect for bicycling long distance and also for hiking, light weight and easy to start up. second photo. it was very windy out so i used the rock to block the wind.

I couldn’t ask for a better way to cook in the wilderness. This tool boils water fast...and I mean FAST! It’s durable and fairly light. I always look forward to getting back to my campsite after a long hike to cook with this bad boy.

This is a great buy! It is easy to set up and everything but the fuel will store inside the cup. The boil time is no lie. The only con for me is that I like to rehydrate my meals in the cup and the lid is vented so heat escapes. I have to find something to sit on top of it to try and seal it as best I can.

Great gift but big fail

I really loved my jetboil when it was given to me as a gift. It worked great last summer but when I went to use it this year and turned it on it melted. I couldn't believe this happened.

This is by far the fastest way (not the lightest) to boil water for dehydrated camp food. However these stoves don't last much more than a year until the plastic base starts separating from the metal stove causing the cup to be unbalanced and easily tip over when full. A year post purchase is also the point at which Jetboil warranty dept tells you "nothing we can do". After the same failure with a 2nd jetboil happened to me recently i'm moving on to MSR. People giving it 5 stars are those who pull it out of the closet 3 times a year for car camping trips. If you are a serious millage backpacker look elsewhere.

I use my jetboil almost everyday as a mobile way to make the best coffee. I travel around the world to some pretty remote spots for long days for my job as a camera operator for film and tv, so when I’m on location, wether it’s a mountaintop, or even if I’m in a stage with bad burnt coffee, I always keep my jetboil and my Aeropress handy. I even have a handcrank coffee grinder so that I can make delicious coffee that meets my snobby standards anywhere in the world, no electricity needed. The jetboil is the fastest part of the process, by the time I have my aeropress prepped, and coffee ground, the water has been boiled for so long already that it’s at perfect drinking temp. 10/10, would buy again.

Bought this on a splurge, cost a bit more than I would've liked to spend, but worth every penny. First time lighting didn't turn on the gas all the way and it wouldn't light, but once I tried again with the knob turned all the way, it lit no problem. Boils water quickly and the handle is nice to hold the cup and pour without heat transfer. Would recommend.
