It may have an anti bacterial treatment but it still stinks after the first day of backpacking. Maybe I'm extra toxic, who knows. Nice looking shirt but it still had that clammy synthetic feel. I find that shirts with something like a 60 percent cotton, 40 percent polyester blend hold off the funk more efficiently, have a respectable drying time and just feel a whole lot better against the skin. That's just my opinion. This will probably be going to the big charitable store and while I'm there, pick up something for a fraction of the price.
One of the best shirts I have bought in years. Light and cleans easily. Wish I could have bought more of them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In general, I really like the PFG-esque shirts from Columbia, and the Silver Ridge Lite is no exception. These shirts look just fine in town, especially the ones with patterns, but are super effective in the field. While the synthetic material does indeed feel synthetic, it really stays very comfortable in the sun and hot weather, the wicking works great, and it is not plagued with the horrible funk like legacy synthetics. Everytime I see this shirt hanging in my closet I grab it until it's destined for the next laundry cycle. It runs just a little large. I've been a size Large all of my adult life, but lately I'm wearing more and more mediums despite not getting any smaller. Maybe it's vanity sizing. In any case, I'd go a size down if you want a trim fit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in SW Florida and spend a lot of time outdoors. I kayak camp, off road bike camp, and hike. My clothing has to be lightweight, dry quickly, cool, and durable. I have tried many different shirts from outdoor clothing companies and the Silver Ridge line is a go to favorite. The Silver Ridge Lite shirts specifically are outstanding. I own both long sleeve and short sleeve. These shirts have an airy almost not there quality. The fabric is soft and drapes well. The venting highly effective. The shirt dries very quickly. On top of the technical performance these shirts also look great with some very nice colors and patterns to choose from. This make trail to town or trail to pub easy not to mention use as casual wear. Truly the best lightweight shirts I have owned.
I got the shirt for casual / travel / camping - and it was on sale on-line. (shirts run big - I usually wear a large but needed a medium)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this shirt for work, it is great in high temps. Fabric breathes well, and has plenty of room for comfort. The shirt was a little tight compared to my other XL Columbia shirt, but it may have just been the cut of the shirt. I am 6'2", and about 250, with a little extra cushion that I could lose. This may be a regular cut, as opposed to my other shirt that is a loose fit. Overall, great product, and I highly recommend it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several of these shirts (lite version), some with short sleeves and some with long ones. My main concern when buying a shirt is it's ability to wick sweat and not accumulate a lot of it in the armpit area. I am an athletic guy. Unfortunately, I tend to sweat quite a lot under /any/ circumstances. Dress shirts get soaked in a matter of minutes which is very unpleasant and limits the range of colors I can use. I went through several different brands before finding this one. It has truly been a life saver. I usually wear it as a dress shirt to work with a white T under it and I have never had spots under my armpits, even when wearing colorful shirts. It has excellent ventilation, it looks very stylish and it's extremely light. These are not the cheapest shirts but I really do recommend trying them, particularly if you trend to sweat a lot.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several of these Silver Ridge Lite shirts in solid colors and they are by far my most favorite shirts, but this last plaid one I got is now my ultimate favorite - so nice I'm not sure if I will wear it hiking! They feel like I'm almost not wearing anything, they move so well with me. It looks great so I've worn it "out" several times now with good response. Maybe I'll have to get several so I won't worry about ruining one!
Made a mistake buying this online. The shirt is made of material (polyester) that seems better suited for a tent, not a shirt. I guess it will be quick-drying but the material is unpleasant to wear as clothing, a bit shiny and a bit noisy -- i.e., like a nylon tent. Also, the color (green) is somewhat off from the product photo.
My Silver Ridge Lite shirts are excellent for warmer / hot weather- the material is lighter and cooler than the average short sleeve shirt. Appearance is great. Silver Ridge Lite shirts are a little trimmer fitting than their Tamiami shirts and happen to fit me better even through I wear XXL.
