After this snowy winter I decided to accept that I needed an outdoor activity so I was relegated indoors until kayak season. I hadn't xc ski'd in years and wanted a ski that I could slap on and take right outside or go on the groomed trails nearby. These skis have fit that bill and have met or exceeded my expectations as a relatively new skier. They do a decent job staying above the snow and can handle climbs and descents on rolling hills. The bindings are easy to slip into and out of. My only pause was they are on the spendier side, but someone committed to putting them to good use will appreciate all the places they can go that other more focused skis might struggle with. I definitely am happy with this purchase.
Since I ski a mix of groomed trails & backcountry, control was more important to me than speed. These are fine on a groomed trail & stable on rolling backcountry terrain. The NNN binding lets me get on or off the skis quickly.
These are my go to ski when I’m not sure if I’ll be on groomed trails or an inch or two of powder. They work well in both conditions. One big advantage they have is a much lighter weight due to the partial metal compared to full metal edges. I’ve never had a problem doing a snowplow or herringbone step with the partial metal edge. Good for track skiing or off track. Great all round ski.
Bought these skis to replace a pair of XT Escape skis that were getting a bit old. I wanted something wide enough to go off track but still narrow enough to fit in the ski trails, these do both! The half length metal edges are great for edging and slowing down when the snow is hard/icy but the ski doesn't feel too stiff and corners well. The new Turnamic bindings are easy to adjust for more grip or glide depending on the terrain although they are hard to open with the ski pole tip. This isn't the fastest ski I've used, but for all-round touring it is fantastic.
At two year point the part of the binding that is turned to latch the boot on broke. Cheap plastic.
This is my first pair of owned CC skis. Love that the metal edge makes it easy to be on groomed courses, but also able to get out into fresh powder.
Great skis for off and on trail. Stable capable ski for skiing frozen rivers and tracking across fields.
