The jacket is really nice looking and comfortable! The zippers/pockets are nice But, I’ve found for winter in Wisconsin it’s not a stand alone jacket, it’s only warm enough if I wear a down vest under it. My biggest complaint is durability. After 2 years of use the cuffs are frayed with holes starting and I’ve ripped two holes in it just by brushing up against things.

This is a great product!

This product is sold as a stand alone jacket at the moment but I found it initially from being the liner to the Mens Triclimate Thermoball Snow Jacket (which to my displeasure is discontinued but by far one of TNF's best & most quality 3-1 jackets, I've had mine for 3 years) I would definitely purchase this product 2 & 3 times over just to have it in different colors! I normally use it for biking in the cold NY winters & serves as great insulation as long as you have a wind breaking shell. This product gives you only slightly less warmth of a Nupste in the package of something far liter & smaller removing the bulk! Can't say enough about it...

Wanted to love it, but sizing is weird

I really wanted to love this jacket. You can tell the quality is great and the jacket overall is very well made. The pattern on the stitching also is one of the best-looking compared to other insulated jackets in my opinion. It's really thin and super light, so very easy to bring around. The one major downside is that the fit is a bit off. I usually wear S or M depending on the jacket, so my first order with this jacket was sized M. It was very long and loose, so I exchanged it for a S. The length of the S was good, but it still felt a tad loose. The worse part was the upper arms area was very, very baggy. I really wanted to love this jacket but ultimately decided to return it.

Good looking jacket and well performed!

I used this jacket for my trip to Lake Tahoe,CA on mid-November and I gotta say I'm very impressed with the performance of this jacket. Not only it looks nice with its light weight construction so that you don't look chubby, it was pretty warm under weather of 40F degree with some appropriate base layers. In conclusion, I'm very happy with my Thermoball jacket and I will not hesitate to recommend this to everyone.

Compact but keeps me warm

I bought this jacket because i had to travel and needed something that could be packed in the suitcase without taking up too much room - but also keep me warm in -20 degree weather. This jacket is great. I have warn it while hiking, traveling, and out doing errands. It is lightweight but keeps me very warm (with a long sleeved shirt or light sweatshirt underneath). In fact, I usually have to take it off while I'm hiking because I get too hot.

Love this jacket!!

I bought this jacket because I had heard great things about it and how warm it is. Living in Chicago, this is a must have for 7-8 months out of the year. While I have another jacket for when it's in the single digits or below, this is a great coat and really does keep me warm. One of the other great benefits of this is due to how light it is, you can fold it up into the pocket and store in your luggage very easily without taking up much room. I bought an XL and I'm 6' tall, 225 lbs with an athletic build to give you and idea of what fit me best. I highly recommend this jacket!

Story of zippers destroying the jacket...

Really enjoyed the jacket during two winters (casual use) , until poorly designed cheap zips started slowly destroying the jacket. I though ,at this price range (200+$), the jacket lasted for a longer period of time. Little bit disappointed.....

Thermoball surprise

I was skeptical about this jacket when I bought it. I still have not fully put it to the test but I took it out today in a pretty good east wind. Anyone from Portland will know what I'm talking about. It was cold and the wind chill was down there. All I had on underneath was a t-shirt. I was totally blown away at how warm I stayed. This jacket is pretty surprising. I have some more testing to do, have to try it in the rain then see how cold I get or maybe not. The only down side so far is I wished it had some kind of stash pocket maybe on the inside for glasses or the phone. If your thinking about this jacket, I would say try it out.

The Best Just Got Better

Excellent jacket. Lightweight, very warm, feels just as soft as down, and extremely easy to take care of. The internal elastic wrist bands new to this year's model are an excellent improvement as the sleeves no longer bunch up at the wrists. Don't let the lightness deceive you because this bad boy can really keep you warm! I can wear this over just a light base layer in 20 F degree weather with mildly windy conditions and be just fine. I think of this as a much upgraded Redpoint. In fact, I don't even wear my Nuptse 2 anymore as Thermoball does just about everything Nuptse 2 does without the bulk or fear of water. Highly recommend.
