Very cozy, very cute
I live in Alaska and spend a lot of time outdoors. I need to be warm but also I don't want to look like a StayPuff marshmallow, ya know? I waited 3 weeks for this jacket to go on sale and I LOVE IT. I'm 5'3" and 130lbs and an XS fits perfectly. It's so cozy, and it's nicely fitted. The sleeves have an insulating layer that keeps your wrists sealed. The hood is nice and deep so it stays on. I got it covered in mud today and It all brushed off once it dried
Warm and stylish
I recently visited Minneapolis and purchased this coat for my trip. My Minneapolis family is very outdoorsy so I knew we would be spending some outside time in the freezing cold. I went on a two hour walk in this coat in 2 degree winter weather. The coat kept me nice and toasty. I only had one layer of clothing underneath. It is waterproof, which helped with the snow that was falling during our walk. The coat runs true to size. I sized up to allow room for a large sweater underneath, but to be honest, I didn't need extra layers so I probably could have stayed with a Large vs extra Large.
Winter is coming- No more fear!
Every year I dread winter’s chill, and this year I finally decided to get myself a real, tough, waterproof, properly warm parka. Oh boy. Best money I’ve spent in a while. I have poor circulation and am always freezing cold- this parka takes the scary out of winter. 10 degrees? Negative windchill? No problem! My poor dog is trying to keep up with walks because now, the weather doesn’t keep me inside. Come at me, winter 2020. I’m ready. 5’4”, 135- got a medium and it’s roomy yet still fitted. The cinched waist is a nice feminine touch. The wrist cuffs are quite cozy too. Probably could double as a sleeping bag. Get. This. Parka.
Right lenght, warmth, and fit
I wanted a thigh length jacket with plenty of warmth and versatility. This has been perfect for walking the dog in 20-30 degree weather and hits just a couple of inches above the knee. I wanted a jacket that zips and snaps, because sometimes the zipper isn't worth the trouble. And I really like the inner cuffs for extra warmth. There isn't a belt, but a slight gather at the back of the waist, which gives a slightly fitted look. I ordered a medium. I am 5'6" and 140, with even proportions. A just right snug around the hips when I have a bulky sweater. And the high neck protection is perfect when the wind is whipping through. And I love the green more than I thought I would. Great winter coat!
Warm
I’m very happy with this jacket. I probably could have been ok with the XS but went with the S since I’m in between and I wanted the option of layers beneath. The shape is flattering overall but a tad bulky looking in the arms (not enough to bother me). I find this warm enough for New England winter. Love the length which hits at my knee so my legs don’t get cold. The zipper seems like good quality but even so I make sure to unzip from the bottom a tad before climbing into my SUV so I don’t split the zipper...it’s nice to have that option on a jacket this long.
I wanted to keep this but......
At first I thought I loved this coat. I ordered up a size as everyone recommended and it was the right thing to do. At first, I thought it was perfect but when the temps went into the 20’s with wind, I noticed both my arms below the elbows felt cold. Looking at the sleeves, it seems the down wasn’t evenly distributed in my coat so I had none in the lower part of the arms. I was hoping it was just my coat but when I returned it to the store, the other coat in the store had the same issue. Not sure if it was a fluke, and I still might order another one to see, but that one had to go back.☹️
warm and comfy coat
Immediately fell in love with this coat! I commute via bus and train and spend a lot of time in cold, rainy, pnw weather. wanted a coat that was warm, waterproof, and stylish. Tried the xl and it was plenty roomy, but a little too much considering with this coat, you don't need to layer. Found a large that is perfect fit. I love that north face actually makes roomy arms in their coats! The midsection strap piece (the coat the model is wearing shows it fitting loosely, but this is a slightly form fitting jacket) is just slightly snug for me (36c chest, size 10/12), but it's not uncomfortable. Hood and faux fur liner are removable which is nice. Overall, happy with the coat. So far it has kept me warm and dry during a pretty cold winter.
great fit and warm
I've had my eye on this coat for a while and finally pulled the trigger the other day. I live in Wisconsin and it can get very cold. So far so good! I've walked our dog in 10 degree weather and have stayed warm. I ordered a XS and I'm 5'4" and 110 lbs and it fits perfectly. It is not bulky like a ton of other parkas. It has a fitted waist which is great. It is slimming and really just a great fit. It also does not poof out in the rear. It's fitted. The length hits right above my knees. Pockets are fleece lined which is great. I also really like the fitted cuff..really keeps the cold out. It is an all around good parka.
Wind and waterproof and warm
I purchased this jacket for a trip to colder climes (0 to 16 degrees) and it worked beautifully; I was toasty warm the entire time. I wore the jacket for extended periods of time; it was comfy. I love that the pockets are really warm and that your inner sleeve fits into your glove with the outer sleeve fitting over it to keep hands and wrists toasty. The length is great. Could’ve gotten a medium but went with a large in order to layer heavier items in case I needed to. Just love this coat.
Very well made - Not warm enough for MN
I live in Minnesota, where the winters are extremely cold. The coat appears to be very well made and high quality, especially considering how poor quality most clothing is now, hence the three star review. It’s definitely not warm enough if you need to remain semi stationary (waiting for a bus like I often do). It is often very windy and terribly cold here, and the wind seems to break right through the coat despite wearing additional weather appropriate layers underneath. Unfortunate given the supposed amount of fill. Searching for a warmer option.
